Q:facility, electrical
It almost sounds as though you are asking about a manufacturing plant, so I will answer from that standpoint, This could be an Extremely long list, but I will limit it to major causes. lack of organization, both in personnel and materials inexperience improper equipment/under equipped lack of knowledge outside factors such as shipping/receiving
Q:I payed the bill and put in the shutoff notice for the 18th, not the 16th! Jesus Christ! I still have shite I have to move!
Look at the money you're saving. 0_o
Q:For a treadmill.I could get a manual for reallly cheap but I had my heart set on an electrical one.I've never really used a manual oneWhat do you think?
Electrical is way better. Check your local paper, Craig's List and OKorder for good used treadmills. You will be surprised how many are on the market. It is not because they are not any good. The problems arise when someone decides that they want to get in shape. They think that they will buy a treadmill, run a few miles and the fat will fall off of them. When this doesn't happen, they quickly get discouraged and sell their equipment.
Q:I have a mini (just like 5x6 inch) Lasko personal space heater. It is not originally intended for heating for tanks and cages, but since it is ceramic I was 't sure if it would be okay. It has safety features such as overheat protection and cool touch housing. Would it be good to use in the tank for the snake? He's a baby cornsnake, and the tank is a 29 gallon glass tank (like an aquarium). I already have a heating pad and two heat lamps, but it still won't get warm enough. And I don't want to use central heating to heat the whole house just for his small space. Not to mention, it just stopped working. I know I can get a conventional ceramic heat emitter, but since this is what I have, I'm hoping it will work.
Rule of thumb with reptiles: Never put any heat source inside of the cage. Sounds like the house is fairly cool. What are the wattages you are using for the two lamps and also what are the current temps (day/night)? Please add this detail. I do have a suggestion as to part of the problem. The average 29 gallon tanks are talls, not longs or wides. When tanks are talls, they are harder to heat and maintain that heat.
Q:I am wondering what happens when you have accidentally connected the negative cables to positive and the positive cables to negative. I have boat that has to two marine batteries and i am wondering if you were to do this will it screw things up and break things?
Hmmmm The only approach to comprehend for sure if that fried the the circuits could be to check out it out with the proper adapter. I would now not use the adapter with the overrated voltage, why danger it extra? Just take the one you firstly used, reduce the output cable and splice the wires collectively the opposite method to reverse the polarity of the plug. That would clear up your main issue.
Q:I need to cut a hole through 2(ish)cm of metal, or some sort of composite material I have at home to feed a few wires through. Is it possible to do it without any electrical equipment?
Careful there ! ! '2 cm. or so' of metal is likely to be part of a structural element. '2 cm. of metal covered composit' is likely to be a required heat shield for an item of equipment. It's not advisable to cut either without knowing what you're doing.
Q:if you have worked in engineering consultancy, can you please tell me what are the typical projects you take and what exactly you do to help different firmswhy cant the firms do that stuff themselves , why do they need you badly ?
I do electrical engineering and do consulting for companies for the design of electrical systems of new plants. What my company and I do is to get the general power requirements for a large building or factory and specify what transformers, wiring, fusing, lighting, and power distribution methods they will need. Because of my education and my experience, I can provide a customer with the correct power and wiring specifications. The companies then can use my specifications to hire large electrical firms to install the electrical equipment and wiring. Firms normally do not do this for themselves because: 1. It is a one-time thing and they would not generally hire some one directly to do this. 2. Many firms cannot legally do this anyway because the state and local municipalities require a state-certified professional engineer and/or engineering company (like me) to design things like this. 3. It would be very costly and inefficient for a company to acquire this capability for a short amount of time. 4. On many types of consultancy, you want to hire another company because you may want a different point of view or perspective on the problem. 5. Many consultants can provide many types of engineering capabilities to bear on a problem, which can be impractical or expensive for companies to hire. Hope this helps Paul
Q:I am undecided whether I want to become a Electrical Engineer or a Master Electrician. I know that Master Electricians can start their own business (Contractor) or take responsibility on a project. Electrical Engineers are the ones who design electrical equipment and that design the electrical projects. I am just curious of which career would have more opportunity to make more salary. I also would like to know if an Electrical Engineer can also be a contractor like the Masters electricians. Country: USA
I've been fortunate enough to be on both sides of this fence and I will say being an EE is the way to go. To become a Master Electrician you will have to go through first becoming a Journeyman Electrician. This usually requires a minimum of 4 years of work without an Associates degree, 2 years of work experience with an Associates degree or 1 year of experience with a BSEE. Then after you have had your Journeymans license for a year you can then take the test to become a Master Electrician. Thats how its done in my state, yours may be different. With any of them though you just can't come straight out of school and be a Master Electrician. I started out life wanting to be an electrician and got my Associates degree in Electrical Technology to do so. I worked as an electrician for 2 years before I went back to school and got my BSEE. Both are respectable jobs but I really like my engineering job a lot more, my back likes it a lot more too. Personally my starting salary as an EE was more than was paid to the Master Electricians at the first electrical contractor I worked for. Remember though, money isn't everything!
Q:Hi. I have bought a kiln from Germany which is compatible with our electrical currents here in the UK - that much I know. It is a small kiln and can be used with just ordinary household electric. However, the electric lead is much thicker than the ordinary leads on my other electrical equipment. Is this just for added safety or what? I want to cut off the German plug and put on an English plug so I need to be sure this is ok. Help from a qualified electrician would be preferable if possible please. Thanks so much.
The heavier wire is to prevent overheating. Cut off plug and wire as normal. Live to the right, Neutral to the left and Earth to the front pin. Luck.
Q:i have a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix with 100000 miles@Park, Neutral and Reverse my cars RPM is perfectly when my car is at a stand idling in bumper to bumper traffic my rpm drops to 500 and it feels as if its about to shut down then kicks back up to its normal operating rpm of 1000. I also notice when i move my steering wheel side to side the rpm fluctuates alot more or when i have my AC or Heat on. what in the world is going on please help is this serious should i fix it ?
if u have the ac on or other electrical equipment it will effect ur idle speed mainly when the ac cuts in adjust the idle speed slightly this is normal for it to do this when the electrical system is under load but u don't wont it to cut out so by adjusting the idle should compensate for this all so check ur plugs and leads replace if necessary
