1.   Application

Magnetically controlledarc-suppression coil of XHDT-series (MCASC) as a new generation of arc-suppressioncoils (ASC) is developed and manufactured newly by the Dandong Xintai ElectricCo., LTD (Xintai), is mainly used in neutral un-earthed power systems of 66kVand under, compensates capacitive current produced during single phase earthingshort-circuit in the power system by using inductive current of arc-suppressioncoil, rapidly extinguishes the interrupted earth arc without restriking inorder to prevent the expansion of the scope of the accident.

MCASC is different fromordinary turn-regulation type ASC, because it achievesfast response and continuous adjustable of ASC inductance by the combination ofthe modern electronic control technology and two-stage magnetic saturationtechnology and by using the operating mode of auto-type DC excitation. By usingdynamic full compensation method, it fundamentally solves inherent conflictbetween the ideal goal of full compensation and the system virtual groundcaused by series resonance. The product has passed the Authentication of State-levelNew Product Production and the Liaoning Provincial Sci-Tech Achievement Appraisal, and is awarded the utility model patent issued by the State IntellectualProperty Office (SIPO).

Q:I just don't understand it, what does it mean when people say 3 phase or 2 phase Voltage, I know higher phases are used to power bigger more voltage demanding things but what does it mean? Can you get both AC and DC in each phase? Is phase just basically saying higher phase higher voltage for higher voltage equipment? How do you convert between phases? Are high phases created with the use of transformers or can they be created directly from things like wind turbines? What is the maximum and minimum phase? How does the phase effect the amps?
Let me explain briefly about the Electric power source and what it has. We get electric power source normally from power station where it is produced by means of Electric power generators. The generator has an Armature which comprises three windings (say coil). Each winding has two ends and all these ends are connected with each other. From Armature windings 'THREE LINES' are drawn to transmit the Electric power source. {Power station produces very high voltage (Electro Motive Force) and transmit the source through over head lines to the various step down Transformers where it is finally step-ed down to low voltages ranging from 600 to 220 volts and supplied to us.} As said above the 'THREE LINES' that Carry's the electric power source from the power stations to us are said as THREE PHASES. VOLTAGE is the unit of the 'Electro Motive Force' (EMF) which is supplied to us from power sub station. What is 220 and 120 volt ? Power substation Supply power source to us by means of 4 wires where the three wires which are called Phases as said above and the fourth wire is called as Neutral. The phase wires carries power source where as Neutral wire carries no power source. America and other countries which follows American Standard, use a phase wire and a neutral wire for 120 volt Supply especially for lighting loads and two wires of phases are used for 220 volt Supply for appliances etc., If you measure the voltage between phases it will read 220volt and phase to neutral it will read 120 volt. Manufacturers of motors, home appliances, electrical equipments, etc., are the deciding authority to Communicate the voltage requirement of their PRODUCTS based on the way they made them. We can find this detail in the name plate of the equipment. Regarding AC and DC Supply. Batteries are made to Supply DC Supply and it can be used for AC equipments with suitable invert-or to change DC to AC.
Q:I have just recently started getting electric shocks at random times when working with my tank. The first time it happened i was wearing a rubber glove (which i thought would block electricity in the first place) i put my hand in the sump and it tore through the glove and shocked my whole arm. The next day i was using the net in the tank itself and got a big shock, then the same thing happend to my brother, my girlfriend and my friend all at different random times. It feels like one of those trick handshake or trick lighters that people have but it hurts way more. Basically the shock runs through my arm and into my chest, leaving my arm numb.I have a 72 gallon bowfront saltwater set up with live rock, about 15 fish, the whole deal. I have the coralife 260 watt compact fluorescent light hood with moon lights attatched with plastic legs on top of the aquarium over the glass canopy. I have an 850 gph pump in the sump, a 300 watt heater in the pump and a protein skimmer in the sump.
it amazes me the fish are'nt dead first.unplug everything, and inspect it closely.my guess the heater is the culprit, throw them away after 1 year, even submersiblesstart to show moisture in the tube, powerhead motors are incased in epoxy, that does'nt mean some thing could'nt be wrong with it [cord coming loose, hairline crack, ect.keep all original packaging and receipts, send suspect materials back.is water running down a cord?use drip loop, and ground circuit fault interrupters, not hard to install, directions come with it or buy a cord, with one from fostersmith, ect.i've kept saltwater for 15 years, had 2 problems in that time a heater plugged it in it went powand not drying the hands.good luck!also the heater may only shock when it calls for heat.if it's not heating it doe'snt shock.hang the fixture, don't use the legs.
Q:For a year my wireless network has always been right at 56.0 Mbps. The last three days however, it has been all over the place (56, 0, 11, 18, 34, etc.) I am trying to figure out what could be causing my slow connection speed. It is a password protected network and I have changed the ip from the standard address.
It could be interference from other electrical equipment, or if there are other wireless networks around you, they could be operating on the same channel. Try shutting off any new electronics you may have gotten or try changing the channel that your router broadcasts in.
Q:I am currently studying electrical engineering in college but Im considering maybe teaching math for a while. But I wanted to ask what the daily routine is like for an electrical engineer at workThank you
I am an electrical engineer at the university of texas at austin and I recently interned at L3 as an electrical engineer working with hardware. Basically from what Ive done you really work with testing electrical equipment making sure it works correctly. I worked a lot with multisim, matlab, and other programing/testing devices. You also get to install hardware ocassionally. But most of the time I followed around my mentor and learned what the day to day job required. Had to get a security clearance though.
Q:i want to know about latest technical electrical machine used in ship's during sailing.Eigther it may be electricity generator or any other equipment.
the newest state of the rt electrical systems on large ships are 'podded propulsion; instead of turbines turning propellor shafts, generators supply electricity to motors that are placed in pods outside the ship, under the hull which turn the propellors.go look up 'Queen Mary 2' on the web for details.
Q:and can they be prosecuted? (UK)
Most electrical or electronic equipment is governed by a user honesty system where if the interfere with other equipment they are required to fix it. Especially if it is ham radio or CB radio. If it is a sewing machine or other home electrical item ring your communications dept. and they will take care of it. Sewing machines can be quite noisy as far as signals and interference go. As far as prosecution is concerned, that won't be up to you. The relevant dept will make that call based on what sort of equipment they are using. I think you should find out which dept. is in charge of radio signals and the like and talk to them. Good luck VK3FMPB
Q:I am doing some work and i just couldn't remember the piece of equipment, that hospitals use to bring people back to life by using an electric shockThey have Pads on them and are often used in films.Thankyou in advance,Babyx
AED : automatic external defibrillator
Q:1. Why is it important to keep this equipment free from excess oils and product build up? Many thanks :)
.WHAT equipment?
Q:I received a piece of electrical equipment from China which has a power lead with it. It originally had a 2-pin plug which I have stripped to rewire into a 3-pin UK plug but the wires are blue, black and brown! I am confused now as I thought either blue/black could be neutral or black/brown could be live. Didn't expect blue, black and brown in same wire.
Connect to Live (brown wire) and Neutral (blue wire). Leave the Earth pin in place but unconnected. Make sure that the plug has a 5 Amp fuse in it (these usually have a blue coloured body, 13A fuses are brown). If the wires are not blue and brown then you must make sure that the voltage is correct. UK mains is nominally 230 Volts, the same as the rest of Europe. Blue and brown are the standard European colours for mains wiring. If the razor is non-European then it may be designed for 110 Volts and will be destroyed when you plug it in. If this razor is an old British one it may have red and black wires. These colours have not been used for appliances since about 1968 and so the device will be very old and may be unsafe.
