Q:Just wanted an idea. We are looking to redo all of our bathroom countertops from tile to granite. I cant decide if I like the above the counter sinks or to place the sink below the countertop. Below is much more expensive. About $200 per cut. Anyway, any suggestions? Thank you.: My wife and I recently remodeled our bathroom with granite tile countertops. We went with square, top mounted sinks for more of an older look. Personally, I don't like the undermounts with granite or sold surface. It's just something about the way they treat the edges and rim that takes something away from the character of the sink and makes me think of a hotel bathroom. Also, the top mounts have a more detailed edge and rim so I just think it looks a little nicer. It's all just personal preference.

Q:Does anyone else have this problem? My bathroom sink smells pretty bad...what can I do to make the smell go away? I clean it regularly but I think the smell is in the piping or something. Please help: It could be bacteria growing in the pipes, try dumping some bleach down the drain. I have to do that with our sinks every now and that seems to work for me. It could also be your plumbing backing up but I kinda doubt that if you're hooked to city sewer. Might also be something caught in the drain that was dumped down it.

Q:I have tried draino, but I think I need to pull out the drain and remove the hair and stuff. It drains really slow. I don't know if I should call the landlord because it is something small. Menard's or home depot have them. It is about 30 inches long and 1/2 inch wide.has sharp little hooks on each side.just run it down into the drain opening up & down, it will hook on to the hair and you can pull it out.do it until you get no more hair. then run hot water down the drain no need to disconnect the trap unless you have more than just hair in the trap Good luck

Q:I live in the first floor of a two floor apartment. When someone in up-stair uses the kitchen sink, the dirty water flows back to my kitchen sink. It stays in the sink for couple of minutes then goes away. Sometimes the odorous water overflows and makes my kitchen floor very smelly. The super of out apartments seems to be struggling to find out why it is happening. He changed the pipe. cleaned it, etc. nothing seems to be working. DOes anyone know the cause. Please help! It snowed yesterday, and I do not have if that has anything to do with the situation.: Sounds like the vent pipe is plugged on the roof. If your sink is overflowing when they use the sink upstairs then the drain system is using your sink for the vent which will cause water to back up on lower units. It would be the first thing I would have checked.
