Q:Hi everyone. I've been in Korea on E2 Visa since 4/2009 and just recently tried to obtain a job, but obviously denied due to the SOFA ordinary resident rule.Stupid rule if you ask me because I am still an American citizen and pay my State Federal taxes each and every year since I have been here. Here are my questions: I have read some answers about leaving Korea every 90 days and go to USA. I have a couple of questions: 1. Is a weekend trip sufficient to Guam?2. Does it matter is I am in Korea on an E2 visa and not a tourist visa? Any additional information or advice is greatly appreciated.Thank you!!!!
Your statements are unclear, are you asking about SOFA status, jobs with the military (on the base, or actual government or GS jobs?) It seems as if you are trying to obtain employment with the military, not to enlist as an active duty member? So you are living in Korea, but not as a military member or a dependent of a military member, therefore you are not eligible for SOFA status. The rules are the rules, whether you think they are stupid or not. Then you also seem to be asking about your E2 visa guidelines? Not sure exactly what to answer here. You might contact the US embassy there for specific direction. Maybe clarify your question a little so we can understand what you are actually asking and what your employment goal is.
Q:she always jumps in my bed and I don't want that .. I'm very scared to roll over herhow to teach her to sleep in her place ?
Good luck. It's pretty hard to convince a cat to sleep where you want. The only really solution, other than her deciding on her own, is to close your bedroom door. You can try to put cat nip on her bed, or just keep pushing her off when she gets on your bed (but she'll likely just come back when you're asleep.
Q:I have an ikea klippan sofa, and i'm getting the 'natural' cover for it. My other sofa is an ikea ektorp, and the only new cover i can afford for this is the white one. Will the 2 sofas look good together? Or should i get the klippan white cover instead of beige?I can't picture them together to see if they'll match! I prefer the cream/beige to white covers though. Could i maybe dye the ektorp cover to match the natural beige klippan do you think?Any help would be great. Thank you!
Here is some information on colour choices, also offers the service of dyeing sofa covers as an alternative to buying new. You could maybe try and dye your sofa covers at home as long as they fit in your washing machine with room to move. www.bluemill .uk/sofacoverdyers/id48.html
Q:just wanted to know bc we need to get our huge sofas into a little door today and we dont know how to do it. we have a small gate to get to the backdoor so the backdoor not that helpful
Have you tried taking the door off of the hinges? That will give you a little more room. Otherwise, you just have to try angling the sofa in different ways to get it through.
Q:I have just bought a new house with a terracotta carpet in lounge and I desperately want red leather sofas - will this match??? See, I kinda like the terracotta, but am committed to my red sofas. Maybe if i painted the 2 walls red and 2 walls terracotta? or burnt sienna? maybe a little mustard trim for the windows and skirting boards? Any ideas and views would be really really helpfu!thanks guys!
You'll look like a south american fiesta room...don't do this. ONE of the two must go. Truly Elegant Natural color leather is best and ageless. No red! Don't mess up the woodwork. Lots of for an oriental area rug, sort of geometric, not floral, that has your colors and work from there. Start with good taupe walls and perhaps add an accent wall later. Get the Red in accents and accessories. If, unfortunately, you have already bought the sofas, then the area rug, at least 5 x 8, will be the only saving grace, with some dark blue to tone it down. and keep it very near the sofa. Neutral walls!
Q:I have a sleeper sofa. The sleeper portion makes sitting on the couch miserably uncomfortable. Can I fix it? The couch cushions are completely distroyed due to the pressure from the metal bars on the sleeper portion
You may want to purchase a futon sofa cushion. The cushion should be the thickest one to purchase. It is about 10 and cost around $100- $200 in USD. Or contact a furniture store to help. I know those things get worn pretty quickly when you use it for every day use. P. S. Keep the old cushion for greater support if you find one trhat fits your needs and hopefully it will help the new cushion stay in shape longer too. I recycle what I can, so I hope this works for you.
Q:I will be moving out to okinawa with my husband. He has already been there for almost 3 years and just recently extended another year there. Will I automatically get Sofa Status when we get married or how does that work? We will also be living off of base. Am I going to have to get a visa also to work on base, even though we are married?
ask his commanding officer
Q:i dont have much room and need a place some family members can sleep on for a while. Anyone know which one of the two is more durable and comfortable to sleep on?
Futons are SO much better
Q:dear all, i would like to have plans for making soem wooden sofa for my home. can any one help me. can i get some free online sofa plans.thanks in advance.
I find that with each time I move and re-decorate, I get more daring. For your first house, play it safe. Stick with the earthy colors and keep the decor simple. Embellish with pictures and accessories that you like. Decide if you like cool tones or warm tones and stick with one or the other throughout. I like decorating with paint - you can change it if you don't like it without costing a fortune. In fact, it is good to have one color for the main living area and work off of that color throughout. Once that is done, you can get comfortable with the theme and you'll know more where you want to go from there - every house has a different feel to it. From there, you can go bolder with a foyer or add an accent wall color, or you can add a faux finish or mural somewhere. Sometimes after painting a room neutral, you can get a painting or print and decorate around it. In fact, that is how I do bathrooms. I pick out a shower curtain that I really love and decorate the entire room around it. It already provides my color pallete, so there isn't much creativity that has to go into the colors. I watch HGTV on cable and when I see something I like, I go to their website and print it out if it's there.
Q:I am part of an amateur ghost hunting group and we investigated a house last night. Upon entering a room with older sofas, upon using an emf detector, it spiked to 8 and then buried the needle. Why would this happen? Anyone have any ideas?
Maybe this happened. Your imagination is playing tricks on you. You know, since there's no such things as ghosts. Should use more common sense...
