Q:I just bought this big wool shag Rug.. and its really nice except it shedding..there is red hair balls everywere... on the floor...on my cloths ...its almost like having a big red dog that sheds constantly! what can i do ? is there something to spay on it ? someone suggested to me to use hairspray???... any advice?

That's natural for a good wool rug. Don't use hair spray on it. That will just make it get dirty faster. Use the vacuum on it every day or every other day. After a couple weeks, the shedding should let up.

Q:I have white carpet, and it got stained up kinda, can anyone recommend me to a brand and model of a carpet cleaning machines? Will they whiten my carpet again?

the final factor I easily have discovered is clorox 2 it cleans each and every thing that a device cant get to, i exploit it on my fixtures and likewise on my motor vehicle carpet in my motor vehicle, i blended it with little or no water and scrub the stain with a textile, then blot it dry, tada,it leaves a great sparkling scent too!!

Q:i have two cats thats hate being locked out of my room and when they are they scratch at the carpet so now there is a bald spot under the door.is there any way i can fix this without replacing the carpet on the whole floor?

It is possible to cut out a piece of the carpet and replace it with a piece taken from a closet or something. Or you might have been smart and saved some leftover scraps when it was installed. However, it has to be carfully done and still might show since it may be faded more that the patch. to do the job you would have to by seam tape, and rent a seam iron. cut the patch to fit exactly in the spot you cut out, put seam tape under it and use the iron to melt the glue on the tape. You may also have to stretch the carpet and refasten in the doorway to get out any wrinkles. If you've never worked with carpet, you're probably better to hire it done, but it still would be cheaper than a whole new carpet

Q:when you leave heavy furniture on a carpet it leaves a mark like if you have a wardrobe on a vcarpet it leaves a mark but does the mark stay forever or does it only last a little bit?

Q:My husband had grease from the shop on his shoes and walked on my beige carpet. Now I have small little strips of grease on the floor. What is the best way to remove it without killing my carpet

first off, i gotta say this: you are a brave woman having beige carpets and a mechanic in the same house! i avoid buying anything light colored for that very reason. to remove the grease though: Dawn dish soap. it is great stuff! just take the Dawn, mix a tablespoon or so in you sink and add like 1/2 an inch of water. swish it around with your hand to get it super bubbly. take a damp sponge and scoop it through the bubbles. rub the bubbles into the stain really good getting more bubbles periodically. let them sit for about 20 minutes, get your carpet shampooer out if you have one, and use that to rinse the spot. if not, use a rag and warm water. you might have to do it a few times, but that has gotten grease out of my carpets on more than one occasion. Gojo works pretty good too, or fast orange, or whatever he scrubs up with at work, but the pumice is hard to get out of the carpet, so look for one with no grit. the Gojo works great on greasy work clothes though, with or without the grit. (with grit works great on denim.)

Q:I have a 5x8ft rug on my bedroom floor and It seems like every other day it is crooked and I have to readjust it to be square with my bed. WHY DOES IT KEEP MOVING? I barely walk across it, sit on it, or even move on it. It is on carpet and even has a box of clothes sitting on the one corner of it. But the box just moves with it! Why does this keep happening?

The carpet is the reason the rug keeps moving. when anything steps on the rug the carpet tufting is crushed and then bounces back and moves the rug. It always goes the same direction doesn't it? I have rugs over my carpets and only my cats walk around the house during the day time and the rugs will have moved toward the front door all the time. Putting a coffee table or he couch or a heavy chair may stop the rug from crawling .
