Q:Just curious i also want to have my ps3 in good condition so i was wondering how durable is the power and av cables
they would last for years if you dont pull them or stomp on them... they are that good!
Q:i just got a new motherboard but after reading throuhg the manual i coudnt get any instructions on which cable goes which way. pls i need some one to help me. all other connections are okay i suppose but afraid to just connect the power, and the reset button cable any how.
With most motherboards there is only one way to attach the power cable to the board, otherwise it just wont fit. I believe there is a little notch on the cable which should line up with the notch on the board
Q:When doing competition, is there a rule where your battery in the back can't be bigger than the one in the front? Are Monster Cables as good as they perceive to be???? I.E. their 400 series cables that are wound in different arrays to optimize each frequency out put? Can a Power cable actually provide more efficiency if constructed right, once again, their 400 series?Subwoofers being 1000 RMS but only getting 500, will running them at their RMS make a significant difference?
I'm not 100% sure but I think that doesnt matter. What matters is the amount of batteries you have. There is a significant difference between 500 to 1000 watts. But it depends on what enclosure is being used that makes it louder...much louder in some cases.
Q:Can I use a standard 12 volt power cable on an Elmo projector?
Possibly on the BoxiT-200 that takes 12 to 19 volts at 3 amps, positive center. Read the printing on user manual, it gives the requirements. Most other Elmo projectors are plugged into an ac outlet.
Q:I'm not sure which cables I lost exactly but during a recent move all the cables for my Xbox 360 were lost. I was wondering what the cables are called like Ethernet cable or power cord etc. and where I could buy them from just the cables, such as at best buy.
Here okorder / You don't need to pay $50 for good HDMI or $20 for Ethernet cables - good quality can be had for considerably less. If you need further guidance write back with Additional Details, OK? Good luck!
Q:So I was trying to run wiring for a 220 outlet and I hit a lower leg with the metal cable snake, now a bunch of outlets loose power for a minute or two ever so often, 20 min give or take. What can be the cause? Only the top breaker tripped. How can this be repaired. Please help.
Would I be right in thinking you sort of tripped on flexible metal conduit in which electric cables run and now the power is intermittent and trips the breaker? I would start by isolating the circuit so it is no longer live and checking the connections at each end of the cable run because any strain on the conduit could have tugged wires out of their terminals. I'd make sure that all the connections were tight and the wires properly anchored and also that each wire is in the correct terminal. I once made a mistake when replacing a socket outlet because the terminals in the new one were the exact opposite of the old one. Luckily, I found it straight away when I tested the circuit. If the connections all look good, I'd check the continuity along each of the cables. It is inconceivable that the cables inside the metal conduit were damaged as they should be continuous cable runs with no joins. The continuity test will tell you if any cable is no longer continuous, but I'd be very surprised as long as the original installation was done properly to code (or wiring regulations in the UK). Obviously, before you start checking the cables, you would unplug or disconnect everything that is connected to them. If the fault only happens when some sort of machine or appliance is connected, then it suggests the fault is with the appliance or machine and not the wiring. A 20 minute cycle of faults makes we wonder whether there is a fridge or a freezer connected the circuit. If so, I'd get it checked for faults and check that the power connection to it is correctly wired. I am not an electrician, just an experienced home owner, so please double check anything I've said. Good luck.
Q:What does the cable ZR-YJV22-4 * 16 mean?
ZR-YJV1KV6mm ^ 2 * 3 for the copper core flame retardant XLPE insulated PVC sheathed power cable, three core, nominal cross-section 6 square millimeters, rated voltage 1kV, model specifications specification: ZR-YJV1KV3X6mm ^ 2.
Q:Okay so I'm production manager for a play in Oxford and I need to have a giant cardboard box drop from the ceiling triggered by an actor with a remote control on stage.I've found a rather nice electromagnet which should do the job which is triggered by a 9V battery. The trigger is an IR unit I'm building which finishes with a relay. The question is can I use a sound XLR cable as the wires in my circuit between the battery with the IR unit and the electromagnet?i.e.Electromagnet -----XLR-----gt; battery -------XLR-----gt; IR unitStandard XLR's do have 3 cables in and surely I only need 2 to complete the circuit. The only reason I'm thinking about using XLRs is that I'm not sure of the distance between things yet and I have plenty of XLRs in many different lengths.Any ideas?
This is done a lot in professional broadcast, except we use 4 pin xlr connectors to prevent inadvertant connection of DC to the audio system. Generally this is to power cameras or portable recorders requiring 12 volts at one or two amps.
Q:This is the second time the power cable has burned up. The cable itself frayed from overheating I suspect.
It would have to be a combination of things that made it fray. Like, for example, being bent at an extreme angle while in use for long periods of time. Power cables get hot from normal use. The plastic insulation gets soft. If the power cable is laid in a comfortable position, if it is allowed to cool before being wrapped up, and there are no problems with the power adapter port on the laptop, a power adapter cable will last for the life of the laptop. Now, if you are using a Universal power brick, that is part of your problem. This laptop only requires a 65 watt adapter. Universal power adapters will push more juice to your laptop... up to 90 watts. This will cause the cables to get hotter. So, if you have not replaced it with a 19 volt 3.42amp brick specifically designed to work with your laptop... then you should do so. And feel free to buy one off OKorder. Same brick as what you get from Toshiba, for a fraction of the cost. end of line
Q:The other day I found an imac g5 17computer in my alley. It probably doesn't work but I was just curious about what cables/accessories I need for it. All that was out there was the actual monitor/desktop. There were no cables with it. (By the way if you can't tell I am not experienced with computers)Thanks any info is appreciated!
Power cable, USB keyboard, USB mouse. That's it. Find a power cable (any old computer power cable will work) and see if it even powers on and does anything first. Crack it open. Set it on its face, then undo the three screws across the bottom. They do NOT come out. They only loosen up until you can't turn them anymore. The back pops off. Look for any swollen or leaking capacitors. If you find any, then it's junk. If you don't, then see if there's any RAM in it. If not, toss some PC3200 DDR RAM in there and see if you get anything.
