- its your bearings. Check to see if the bearings are bent inside the wheel, because that can slow you down tremendously. Also sometimes if they are new they needed to be breaking down and used and the more you use the bearings the faster you will go.

- Q:Car has been in the shop since last week. They've ordered the bearing according to catalog, and its wrong - so they say the spindle has been changed apparently..however my brother in law says the bearings come with numbers imprinted on them which should make it easy to replace. The garage lady says Hyundai bearings don't come with numbers...anyway, they are down to the last bearing Hyundai makes and we are waiting for that part to come and hoping it is correct....I am wondering if this is just totally nuts or does this sound correct? Shouldn't they have just taken the bearing itself to an auto parts place and matched it up? Why is this so hard? Car was originally put in the shop for a new alternator, by the way.

- Q:What would it cost to have the wheel bearings replaced on a 98 Mercury Sable? Also, how bad is it to drive on busted ones? My car is making a grinding noise when I turn corners and I have been told that this might be caused by bad bearings.
- Mine were looking to be 205 a piece but mine were on a suv to. But a a sable I bet your lookin about 125-150 a piece. As for the response above he is talkin about a c-v joint not a u joint. a u joint is in the drive shaft not anywhere near the wheel. I would suggest getting the bearings and c-v joint check as it could be eaither or
- Q:ok..muy f22b1 vtec engine has 22222 stamp on crank and ccbcc stamped on block which comes out to y/g,y/g,y,y/g,y/g. (that's yellow and green.)with yellows in the block and greens as well..(I know it meant one half yellow one half green, but I wanted to see the difference in the bearings...)the yellow had a clearance of .0020, which is the service limit for journals 1,2,3 4...here are muy books' readings-oil clearances-# 1 4 standard .0005-.0015 service-.002# 2 standard .0008-.0018 service-.002# 3 standard .0010-.0019 service-.0022# 5 standard .0004-.0013 service-.0016 I also tested browns and acl bearings.these are the clearances I got with a dial bore gauge.....green bearings- .0019yellow bearings- .0020brown bearings- .0015acl bearings- .0025at this point im not sure which way to go, go with stamps or clearances...any suggestions would be great... thanks
- The deciding factor is clearance! But if you need new bearings- the crank should be turned to the next size. Now this might seem like a needless expense. But it is not! For one thing it makes sure there is not too much play at the mains and rods. The second is that turning the crankshaft smaller reduces friction. That means that the engine will rap out faster! Now while you have the crank in the shop- ask about getting the flash removed and peened. Also have take the piston and rods in for a finer tolerance balance. Reducing internal engine resistance is what a performance rebuild is all about- not just slapping new parts in a worn block.

- listen up kiddo cuz i know what im talking about. First off, there are two good beginer's boards. Zero, which is my personal favorite, and Alien Workshop, which I've heard a lot of good things about. Alien Workshops are over all good boards, and zero is good for street skating and getting high ollies. The next thing, is trucks. I think that the top trucks brands are Krux, Grind King, and Phantom 2. But really, all the trucks are virtually the same. You can ask anyone, Zero Black Widdow Bearings are the best.... Spitfire wheels are the best wheels... Stay away from brands like Blind [which cracks easily] and Birdhouse [They are designed for vert skating, and are VERY VERY hard to ollie with because they are really heavy.] Also element are generally cheap and flimsy. Shoes are all the same, just pick whatever looks good. ^__^ If you already know how to ollie, thats great [Push down with your backfoot on the tail of the board, and slide your front foot up the board and jump]. But it takes a while to ollie, so you really need to keep practicing as much as possible [It took me around 2 months to finally ollie], and watch as many skate videos. If you follow those two things, you will be ollie-ing in no time. good luck.
