Q:I bought a wiring harness for my 2001 Ford Focus with a non-blaupunkt factory cassette player. The wiring harness doesn't match up exactly. A reviewer online said his didn't match up either, but still worked. The factory wiring has 7 slots and the one I received has 8. Q:I have a copper colored wire, a black wire, a red wire and white wire in the little box in the wall?? please help.

It sounds like you want to switch a light off and on from two locations. Here is what is needed. Two three way switches Open up both boxes and look inside. There should be a black, red, white and copper wire in that box. If so make sure you have a three way switch and take the copper wire and wrap it arond the gren screw. Turn the switch so that you can see the back side. On one side there will be one screw colored black. Place the black wire on that one and turn the switch a little and you will see two brass screws. Put the red wire on the bottom and white on top and tightem them. Now move on over to the other box. This one shoud have the following a black, red, and white w/ground and also a black and white with ground. One of the black wires will be alive and as it is now the only one. locating the live wire you can mark it some how and turn the electricity off at the breaker. Check to make sure all is quiet and safe the box, if so we move on. Take the two copper wires and twist them together a few turns leaving about 4 inch pigtail. Cut the other copper wire and then put the copper pig tail on the green screw. Now take the two white wires and twist them together and secure with a wirenut. Fold them back and stick into the back of the box. Take the wire that was alive and secure that to the black screw. Then take the other black and secure it on the opposite side to the brass one. Put the red one(Travellers) on the top brass screw. You should be all set. Now turn the power back on. Turn the lights on at one box and then go over to the other and turn them off. Now walk back to the first box and turn them on. If this does't work, Shut the power off and go to the first box and remove switch the red and white wires(travellers). Should do the trick kill all power and secure switches in the box If John Hinself is real than I am an Imposter

Wired networks are always more secure because they're not advertising themselves to the world; e.g. you need to have physical access to connect to a wired network. Wireless networks can be secure; but the fact of the matter is they're advertised to any passer-by and are susceptible to having their keys cracked.

Run a fused (1 amp, 14 AWG) wire from a fuse in the fuse panel that only has power when the car is ON to one side of a switch. From the other side of the switch run the same sized wire to the REM (remote) connection on the amp. This allows for full control and you never have to worry about forgetting to turn off the amp. The switch is so you can turn off the amp at will so as not to give grandma a heart attack in the car. You can find fuse taps and in-line fuse holders at any autoparts store.

If you apply Fleming's left hand rule, you will realise that the mechanical force experienced by each wire under the influence of the magnetic field of the other is in opposite direction. Need more info. What voltage ? Different colors on wires? White usual indicates common or the neutral. Black is your hot for 120 usuAlly. Hi med And low Are power settings on the fan I don't believe ud have to wire them seperatly. Repost this with more specific info and I'll answer it. Q:i am re-wiring light switches in my home. Pulled off the old switches and there are four wires. 1 red, 1 black, 1 white and 1 bare. My light switch has three spots, 2 brass screw plates and a ground screw, what of the 4th wire?

Seems like you have three way light switches. Try using a three way light switch there is a difference from a regular light switch.

Q:I bought this ceiling lamp, and there are 4 wires coming out of it. One white and one black (positive and negative), a bare copper wire for grounding, but there's also a yellow striped green wire. The yellow and green wire is another ground wire. In a house in North America most systems are AC and there is NO positive or negative conductor. The conductors are a ground/bare, white/neutral and any color is a hot wire. The green or yellow green are the exception to the color codes. I suggest you get a book on basic house wiring before you attempt anything besides basic replacement of devices.
