- Q:electrical wire prices
- everything does to some degree cos of the oil used in production packaging and transportation, and because wire is used in massive quantities in industry the companys selling it would lose out if they didnt increase there costs immediatly.
- Q:I have two alpine 1242d. I need to wire them parallel parallel. Ive seen many pictures on how to do it but im still a little confused. Okay first off do i need any special type of wiring or will my 4awg wire work. Because it shows multiple wire connections where the wires combine. The positive connect from an existing wire already running to the amp. If anyone understand what i mean can you explain it to me. Thank you much appreciated!
- First off, your 4 awg wire will work for powering your amp but its right on the edge, I would go with 1/0 if your amp terminals will accept that gauge. Second, you don't have to make all those connections with one speaker wire, that diagram is simply showing you the current path. If you want a really simple way to do this, cut three strips of speaker wire and strip the ends about 3/8 of an inch. stick one end of each positive wire into one of the positive terminals on any voice coil. now run one wire to the + amp terminal, one wire to the other + voice coil on the same sub, and one wire to either of the + voice coil terminals on the other sub. now strip a fourth wire and connect the two + terminals on the second sub. repeat the same procedure for the - terminals. I reccomend using 14 or 16 gauge speaker wire for this. Good luck
- Q:Two wires, 2.44 m apart, both carry current 2.2 A toward the bottom of the screen. The right wire is extremely long, and the left wire is 0.36 m long. What is the magnetic force on the left wire?
- Magnetic force, F = BIL --------(1) where B is the magnetic flux density of the magnetic field caused by the right wire, acting perpendicularly to the left wire in Tesla I is the current in the left wire in Amperes L is the length of the left wire in metres To find B (due to the right wire), you have to use the formula B = (?0)(I)/(2πr) -----(2) where the I in this case is the current in the right wire, r is the distance between the two wires, and ?0 is the permeability of free space, numerically defined as ?0 = 4π×10?7 using eqn (2) so B (due to right wire) = (?0x2.2)/(2πx2.44) = 1.8x10^-7 T using eqn (1) and the value of B calculated above F = (1.8x10^-7 x 2.2 x 0.36) = 1.43x10-7 N
- Q:I have 1971 slide in truck camper with 5 way pin wiring wires are red, white ,yellow, black, green.need to know what wire's do what...thanks
- green is common ground. red is usually rear lights, White and yellow are the turn signals Black is the bachk up lights. But it is not standard.
- Q:the 2 wires that is connected from the key hole is cut .. how to fix or replace?
- If there enough wire left on each side of the cut, say 1, then you could bear about 1/4 of the wire on each side and solder the wires back together making sure you are soldering the same wires together and wrap each soldered connection in electrical tape so they are not able to touch each other. Then a final wrap of tape around them both. If you are not up to soldering you could go to an auto parts shop and get a crimp connector to do the job, again bearing of wire is needed to get a contact through the cut area. If the cut is closer to the switch then there is no option but to replace the switch.....
- Q:I'm doing a science experiment and I don't know why resistance decreases as the diameter of the wire increases. Any help is appreciated.
- Basically a thick wire behaves as a lot of thin wires. Comparing one thin wire to a whole bunch, it is easy to see a difference. How this is explained in simple terms is that there are more paths for the electrons to take in a thicker wire, instead of them all being forced though the same space in the thin wire. You could compare it to cars on a motorway, the more lanes there are the more cars will be able to travel on it. A single lane would get blocked up if all cars in say four lanes tried to travel down it. Hope that explained things clearly!
- Q:hi can anyone help i am currently building a 50cc scooter up from scratch i have most parts but ive started on the wiring does anyone know where i can get a wiring diagram also what wire recharges the battery from the magnetic pickup thanks

- Q:I am trying to hook up my motorcycle turn signals but am having trouble with the wiring. Off of each signal stem comes a red wire (positve) and black wire (negative). Then coming form my bike I have a purple wire, blue wire, and green wire. I was messing around with the connections and was able to get all my signals to light up, but not in the fashion i need, like blinking correctly. Any suggestions? Do I need to split the wires? Does one wire go to the left signal and one to the right?
- There are many model specific forums out there that would probably be a better place to ask this question. If this is a common model of motorcycle I would try looking for one. To hazard a guess, the green wire should be split and connected to the black wires. The purple and blue would then be the positive. Trial and error would tell you left and right. If you have a multimeter it would eliminate the guesswork.
- Q:How do they differ from residential wiring?
- Commercial and industrial wiring make extensive use of conduit, cable trays/ This entails explosion-proof or flame-proof fittings, along with the seals and other conduit fittings. Residential wiring, in most cases make extensive use of romex cables without any conduit. Other than these major and a few minor differences, the wiring is actually the same. This is the installation of cables/wires from the circuit breakers to the users. TexMav
- Q:I recently Hooked a newer Pioneer cd player up in my 00 mustang gt!.. it will not keep memory. The only way it will come on is when the red(power) is hooked up with the Yellow wire!.. but this way it will not hold a memory.. theres a few orange wires but i have hooked them up and it still wont keep memory? any suggestions?
- I am installing a Pioneer Car Stereo and not sure if the yellow or blue wire are the memory wire
