Q:how to wire a receptacle with 6 wires?
I say that JimW has given you the best answer ..... sounds to me that the box that those wires are in is a connector or in-line jumper box ---- where is your multi-meter or 2-wire/glow tester to find whatz hot .... the certified electrician is going to do what JimW says ... further tests will prove it .......
Q:Wire diagram for stereo to a 2000 Kia sportage
you have a bad ground not he deck its self!? try to follow the wires and check them but if not anything outta place? try to get a car audio tech to check it
Q:I have a audiofonics adf-240 and I want to wire it to 1 ohm
you do no longer cord the amp you cord the subs. seem up the wiring optons on your subs and notice the thank you to drop the ohms. remember you will make greater potential yet your amp will run warmer and wont final as long except carried out properly.
Q:i have a purple wire i have no clue what it goes to, i have a dark blue/brown wire i dont know what it goes to and want to make sure the i just cap off the orange wire…Can someone please help me-it is draining my battery
The limited Information you provided makes it difficult but I am going to assume that you are/have put in an aftermarket stereo. The purple (violet with yellow stripe) wire goes to the PCI bus and is not used with aftermarket radios. Cap it. The orange wire is to dim the radio display when the headlights are on. Optional but not required. Cap it. The dark blue with brown stripe is not in the wiring diagram for the radio. The right front speaker wires are Violet/Dark Green stripe and Dark Blue/Red stripe. If your battery is draining then make sure the Red/White stripe wire is connected to switched power and the Pink wire is hot all the time. If reversed the battery will be drained.
Q:Two long straight parallel wires are 12 cm apart. Wire A carries 2.5 A current. Wire B's current is 3.7 A in t?Two long straight parallel wires are 12 cm apart. Wire A carries 2.5 A current. Wire B's current is 3.7 A in the same direction.1) Determine the magnetic field magnitude due to wire A at the position of wire BB = ? T2) Determine the magnetic field due to wire B at the position of wire A.B = ? T3) Are these two magnetic fields equal and opposite? Why or why not?4) Determine the force on wire A due to wire B, and the force on wire B due to wire A.
(1) wire-A B = (uo)(I) / (2pi * r) B = (1.26E-6)(2.5) / (2pi * 0.12) B = 4.17E-6
Q:If you hang a pot-plant with mass of 8kg from two lengths of wire attached to a horizontal beam 100cm apart. The wire on the left has a length of 50cm and the wire on the right has a length of 75cm.What is the tension in both wires?
The tension in both wires.? If you hang a pot-plant with mass of 8kg from two lengths of wire attached to a horizontal beam 100cm apart. The wire on the left has a length of 50cm and the wire on the right has a length of 75cm. What is the tension in both wires? In the triangle ABC, AB(c) = 100 cm, BC (a) = 50 cm and AC (b) = 75 cm 2s = a+b+c = 225 cm s = 112.5 s-a = 112.5 - 50 = 62.5 s-b = 112.5 - 75 = 37.5 s-c = 112.5 - 100 = 12.5 tan A/2 = √ {(s-b)*(s-c) / [s*(s-a)] = √ {37.5*12.5) / [112.5*62.5] A = 28.95? tan B/2 = √ {(s-c)*(s-a) / [s*(s-b)] = √ {12.5*62.5) / [112.5*37.5] B = 46.57? C = 180-28.95-46.57 =104.48? --------------------------------------... 46.57? is the angle between horizontal and 50 cm wire. 28.95 is he angle between horizontal and 100 cm P is the tension in the 50 cm wire and Q is the tension in the 75 cm wire Equating the horizontal components of the tensions P cos 46.57? = Q cos 28.95 ? P = Q cos 28.95 ?/ cos 46.57? P = 1.27 Q-------------------1 Equating the sum of the vertical components of the tensions to the weight of the pot P sin 46.57? + Q sin 28.95 = 8*9.8 N 0.73P + 0.48 Q = 78.4N 0.73(1.27 Q) + 0.48 Q = 78.4N Q = 55.72 N and P = 70.76 N ============================= Or use Lamis theorm Angle between P and Q = 104.48? Angle between P and the pot = 90 + 46.57? Angle between Q and the pot = 90 + 28.95 By Lamis theorm P/ cos 46.57? = 78.4/ sin 104.48? P = 55.67 N and Q = (78.4/ sin 104.48? ) cos28.95 = 70.85N ====================================
Q:I wanted to ask, im busy installing a new stereo headset for my car,when i replaced the old stereo with the new one, i used the wire harness from the old stereo and joint the wires to the back of new the stereo (which there is another black adapter that goes in the wire harness area on the the new stereo) i did this by connecting the wires from the stereo adapter to the wire harness that connects to the car, although the adapter that connects to the stereo has more wires than the wire harness that connects to the car,( i only connected the wires that were matching such as grey wire to grey wire, grey wire with black strip to grey wire with black strip, and so on, i obviously didn't connect the colours that didn't match to the wire harness wires, although i looked up online and apparently the yellow wire is a power wire, but i don't know where to connect it......if anyone could help, this would be greatly appreciated , i also wanted to ask, would this solve the problem if i buy a new wire harness? Thanks
What kind of car is it? That's important, especially if it's a foreign make because those wires are so weird colored. Typically, yellow or ornage is power, red is memory, and the purple, gray, white, green wires are for the speakers .Black or brown wires are ground. Any blue wires you might come across are mainly just auxiliary signal wires that go to an aftermarket amp and subwoofer setup. Unless you have something like that, those wires can be taped off and forgotten about. Also, when wiring an aftermarket radio to your car, you will need to purchase an adapter harness that plugs into the stock wiring of the car and the wires connect to the radio wire harness correspondingly. I suggest soldering all the necessary wires and sealing them with shrink tube. It's the most solid, most sure way of a good connection without the worry of shorts and disconnections.
Q:Im currently running 8 gauge power wire from my battery to my amp which is a hifonics zxi8408 i have it bridged to 2 channels so its pushing 440 watts x2 to 2 alpine type Rs. The current speaker wire im running is 16 gauge.My question is...since im going to go down to 4 gauge power wire, should I lower the speaker wire and get 12 gauge speaker wire also? What will sound the best?

Q:How is the line differ from a neutral and ground wires in a three prong plug?
In your standard outlet, (NEMA 1-15 or 5-20 receptalce/plug): The 'Line' is the smaller slot/prog The 'Neutral' is the large slot/prong The ground is the 'pin'/prong.
Q:Okay, I just started tearing into my partially finished basement of the home I bought last week. Some of the electrical wiring is interesting to say the least.I have a junction box in the basement. One wire connects directly to the panel, another out to an outlet, and the third goes up and out to half the house. All of this is 14/2 except the quot;thirdthat runs up and out. This is wired with 14/3 but the third wire isn't connected to anything. Should I be concerned considering every outlet in the house works?
I'm going to contradict some other answers here... Your handyman is wrong about being able to easily add a grounded receptacle (another reason why 'handymen' should not be touching electrical work). Please hire a licensed electrician for electrical work. The metal jacket on old BX cable is NOT approved as a grounding means. This is known in the National Electrical Code as Type AC (armored cable) wire. The old BX version of this does not meet the specifications called for by current codes. Therefore its metal jacket cannot be used as a grounding means. Since you do not have a grounding means at the receptacle, the only Code-approved replacements are either a non-grounding receptacle (2-prongs), or a GFI receptacle that is marked as No Equipment Ground on the cover plate. Unfortunately, neither is likely to solve your particular problem. The surge protectors usually have to be grounded to perform their job and even installing the GFI will not give you one. I'm afraid that your only good answer is to have a licensed electrician run a new wire and install a new receptacle for you. UPDATE: Sorry Fred, I will not put my code book away. I make part of my living fixing the work of handymen who thought they knew what they were doing. This is the second time, recently, that I have seen you giving out bad electrical advice that you are obviously not qualified to give. Please stop before someone gets hurt from your advice. I wish I could give your update another thumbs down.
