Q:i've got a GOTOH humbucker pick up and its only got a white and a bare wire. can someone tell me how to wire it or how it works. i'm making my own guitar and i need help with the wiring.

The bare wire is usually ground. Solder that to the ground wire that you should have wired to the bridge, and also to the sleeve connection on the output jack. The insulated wire carries the signal. Depending on the configuration you are running, whether it be a single pickup, two pickups, and global controls or dedicated controls, this can go in different places. Let's say, hypothetically, that you are using a single pickup. Then, the signal wire would go straight to the Volume pot. The tone pot would be an offshoot of the volume, which tapers the high end. There are multiple ways to wire a tone pot, should you install one, and the wiper of the volume pot goes to the tip connection of the output jack. Q:How do you properly wrap copper wires? We have been using electrical tape and it's melting the tape. This is in a camper, and it's in the electrical box. We're using this tape because the wires kept touching and arcing off of each other...I'm guessing :/

Shut off the power to that area. You have a major problem someplace other than in that box. You are waiting for a fire to happen so turn off the power and get out until the problem is fixed. Contact a local qualified professional electrician to do the work. That is cheaper than burning the unit to the ground.

Q:Some states allow the use of aluminum wire in houses in place of copper. If you wanted the resistance of your aluminum wire to be the same as that of copper, would the aluminum wire have to have a greater diameter than, smaller diameter than, of the same diameter as the copper wire? Calculate the thickness ratio of aluminum to that of copper.

Are you using 12 volt batteries to do this..?

Q:The spark plug wire on my dirt bike needs to be replaced because it was touching the exhaust and it burned through.I was wondering if the ignition coil and spark plug wire are one piece and need to both be replaced or is there someway to disconnect spark plug wire? They spark plug wire doesn't seem to be pluged in, but it seems to be one piece. Does anyone know?

The coils/wires I have dealt with have been replaceable. The coil has a spike in the hole the wire goes in and a retaining nut. The resistor cover is usually hard plastic[Bakelite?] and has a small screw inside the hole so you can screw the wire onto.

Q:I am planning to wire my single sub 400rms svc to my amplifier 400rms x 1 @4 ohms. My car model is 94 mitsubishi lancer. how many AWG ( gauge) should I use? Like for Power, ground, speaker wire. I just want to have the full potential of my sub and ampli.For my 2nd question: if I decided to put a 2nd sub wired it on the same amp making it 800rms x1 @ 2 ohms. (my amplifier is a class d mono 1600 watt peak by the way) should I need to use a capacitor?Thank you

Q:Is high quality CAT-5 ok to wire surround sound speakers to the receiver?

Unless your making up for some deficit in an esoteric 5000 dollar amp, with strange damping circuitry requirements monster cable is a huge waste of money. 14 Gage is fine, LAN cable is not and is not meant for the purpose. I went out and bought a pair of huge monster cables, that reminded me of nothing less than heavy duty house wire, which, by the way is much cheaper. Found it 1. incompatible with anything but banana plugs, which, 2 were not supplied but offered at even further ridiculous prices, 3. were not compatible with standard receiver outputs or speaker inputs until quite recently, 4. made no perceptible difference over a good run of litz wire, 5 are largely retailed to rubes and aficionados to show off their wallets, and a handful of professionals with particular matching problems with hyper sensitive gear. If you've got an extra hundred bucks, invest it in your amp or speakers instead.

Q:wiring kit, subwoofers

by wiring kit do you mean the amps power kit? some of which will include speaker wire for the subs anyway usually your amp will come with instructions that tell you what the minimum gauge is the amp will accept for power, this is the gauge power and ground cable you will want to get maximum power to the amp and to prevent overheating issues, typically amps under 400 watts rms power will do fine with 8 gauge, amps 400-1000 rms will use 4 gauge and 1000+ will use 2/0 gauge wire, for the subwoofer speaker wire you can never go too big gauge only too small, a kicker 12 gauge speaker wire will work for almost any application

Q:6000+ heat sinc wires?i up graded my cpu and the new heat sinc has a 4 wire conector and my old 3800+ heat sinc has 3 and mobo has 3 pin processor works great. sys recognizes amd 6000+ dual core processor @ 3.0 ghz but not the model #???? sys works great scored 10143 on 3DMARK 06 anyway the fan and temp s are all good any ideas what the other wire is

Yes, the fan on your heat sink has a fourth wire that..............(tune back in tommorrow folks, for the conclusion), (sorry, somebody's telling jokes over here!) The fourth wire is a Speed control wire. The first wire,(Red), is 12VDC,(power), the second,(Black), is the ground, should be a Blue wire, for rpm sensor, and the fourth,(color codes vary), is the wire that the BIOS uses to speed the fan up when the temp of the cpu raises, slows the fan down, when it isn't used as hard. Temp of the cpu, is found through one of it's pins on the bottom of it.
