Q:hello,i have lots of 8 gauge wire resting at my closet. And i'm very interested on doing the big 3 upgrade to my 2000 mitsubishi eclipse gt. May i see any improvement with 8 gauge wire?...i know that at least 4 gauge is recommended...but i dont want to spend money.
Go cheap, get cheap. Improvement, maybe. But heres a secenario: current draw exceeds capacity of 8 gauge wire, insulation melts, positive wire grounds out, lots of smoke, fire.... no wait... FIRE! Oh s**t that's gonna cost me..... (a lot more than 4 gauge wire I'll bet...)
Q:at least 3 examples for wire and wireless......
Wire simplex: Serial data from GPS to PC or autopilot using 2 wires. Wire, half duplex: Theatrical intercom, with push to talk buttons for each spotlight operator. Wire, full duplex: telephone. Wireless, simplex: infrared remote control for TV. Wireless, half duplex: walkie-talkie, family radio service, cb radio. Wireless, full duplex cellphone, cordless phone.
Q:We bought a used 2004 Chevy Venture that is a cargo style van... it only had a radio in it. So we just bought a Sony car stereo with a cd player to install in it. However, we are having trouble locating the correct wiring harness for the 2004 Venture. We've bought two already for GM vehicles that should technically work for the year of our van, but they do not work. One salesman told us we needed a very expensive wiring harness because it controls the airbags and other electrical gadgets (but they didn't sell it at his store... he said to look online). I've looked online and can't find anything. Would we be better hardwiring it OR does anyone have any experience with a situation like this? Thanks!
You have to remove the trim plate on the front which involves a few other trim panels like the center trim piece to be removed. Then you can access the IPC screws
Q:Who makes the best spark plug wires? i think the ones on my car are crap...they are Mag*star O.E. replacements, and they suck. What do you recomend? Its an 89 thunderbird
The best plug wires are the ones with the least ohms per foot... MSD 8.5mm wires has about 40 ohms per foot and thats about the lowest you will find w/o getting into solid core race wires (not good on OEM cars with EFI, car radios, etc) All of your stock type wires, parts store replacement wires, etc will have between 1,500 and 3,500 ohms per foot
Q:there is different gauge wire sizes in the power/ground and speaker wire? which is better? what is the difference? buy ground power and speaker wire the same gauge?
properly, there are variations in conductivity in wires of the comparable gauge, based upon the textile of which the cord is made and no count if or no longer that's multi-strand or good middle. That sounds like an rather huge hollow even although. To account for that plenty variance i might somewhat much would desire to think of the decrease one is aluminum or some very low-cost copper alloy. 8 gauge is somewhat thick cord, in spite of each and every thing.
Q:what wires do i use to bridge subs together?
12 awg twine is superb....yet i do no longer understand your question. Are you attempting to parallel or sequence the voice coils? Paralle. tie the two together. constructive to constructive. detrimental to detrimental. which would be a 2 ohm load. sequence. in basic terms run the bounce twine from constructive of one coil to detrimental of the 2nd coil. which would be a 8 ohm load. Assuming the coils are 4 ohm..wish that enables.
Q:I am installing a ceiling fan. The directions say to connect the blue and black wire from the fan to the black wire coming from the ceiling and the white to the white from the ceiling using a wire nut. I have connected those with no problemThat leaves me with a green ground wire coming from the fan. However, the only ground wire coming from the ceiling is a naked solid copper wire. How am I supposed to connect those using a wire nut??
spin the stranded wire between your fingers, this will make it more rigid. if you dont you'll end up winding the stranded fan wire around the solid wire and it will just slide out of the wire nut when you push the wires back into the box ( and you might not notice it until you put the whole fan together and mounted then flip the switch and nothing happens.) if you have two wires put them together and nut them, if you have three it's best to twist them together then nut them. they usually dont give you enough pre-stripped wire on the fan leads so you have to strip about another half inch off to make a decent connection
Q:i just got two new aiwa stereo speaker's they come with their own wiring in the back but i dont know which wire is whatthere is one black wireand there is another black with gray dashesim thinking the one with dashes is positive?the speaker works both ways
You can use your old ones.
Q:What's the use of the live wire, neautral wire and earth wire in a plug? The purpose
1. When it's working normally, Voltage would be present across Live and Neutral wire. Current would flow from Live to Neutral Wire. 2. When there is a fault, The voltage will be present in the live wire and as the circuit is not closed, No current would be flowing. 3. No it's not correct. But in some cases, the earth wire would be transmitted to the sub station where in its joined with the neutral. 4. Green 5. The Casing would be connected to earth. Hence the neutral is shorted with earth.
Q:I don't like wiring nuts because I always feel like it's not a solid connection, like it could come out.
