- Q:i recently had a basement flood which covered the floor in 4 inches of water.After using two pond vacuum's, and a carpet shampoo and water extractor, the carpet and the pad are still wet. I would love to get the same carpet as i had. They do not have it on the Abbey carpet site anymore...HERE IS THE CARPET THAT WE HAD.
- If its not on the Abbey site there are only 2 reasons for this.. The carpet is no longer made and discontinued or who ever you bought the carpet from has private labeled the carpet so no one shopping for an Abbey carpet ( or any thing else in their store) won t be able to cross shop and price compare. Big box stores are know to do this and some mom and pop stores. I never did. Now a suggestion.. Pull up the carpet and the pad. The pad is probably ruined. The carpet is more often than now salvageable if you can get it to dry. Or get a professional carpet cleaner in to vac out the carpet. they may be able to pull out enough water and along w/ fans and a dehumidifier, you may be able to save it. - It may be an issue of what your rug is made of. I had a similar problem with a synthetic rug and I had to hang it outside for weeks to get the stink out of it (we'd used a steam cleaner 4 times on it so we knew it was clean). Make sure you've gotten all the soap out of the carpet because that can actually attract more dirt! Also try cleaning the surface the rug was on. Sometimes the smells can get trapped there too. Good luck!

- It should be fairly easy to get out with a wet paper towel. If that doesn't do it completely then use some oxy clean spray or other carpet spot cleaning treatment.

- I know exactly what you are saying, if these rugs are left on a wet or humid floor they will stick to it ,and when you wash them they make a mess in the washer, to remove the sticky stuff from the floor spray some white vinegar on it and scraping gently this will take care of it . The next time that you buy a rug , get one with no backing , 100% cotton this will not stick to the floor.

- Target..Walmart...Big Lots Using the padded storage cubes like that have at most places like those listed above for footstools is great. Also putting a tray or glass across one to use like a table looks good too. Try checking out the local Goodwill and flea mkt. type outlets...Lots of treasures there!!
