Q:i wasnt thinking and put the power cable in my mouth and then pressed the tip on my tongue and got electrocuted... it still hurts a little.. am i going to die
Yes. Yes you will. It might take years, and your doctor might call it something completely unrelated - like cancer, old age, or a car wreck. But this is what really caused it.
Q:The Leader of the band inists that all power cables connected to the amplifires be placed away from the performance area.
a) He(she) is smarter and more experienced than you? b) He(she) wants some action on the stage and you might just kick (scuff) the cords in the process (either of which is undesirable since sudden silence in the middle of a number does not get repeat performances and sudden shorts doesn't impress too many people, either).
Q:So, I built my first computer 6 months ago, only to have the power supply fail, and maybe fry the CPU or the motherboard (hope not), and I ordered the XFX 550W from newegg. Now I built the computer, but this is actually going to be the first time I'm taking out the cables of the power supply to the motherboard, and it looks like it's quite tightly in there, do I just take it out by force? I don't want to exert too much pressure because I'm a pussy and I don't want to ruin it haha.
The HDD power cable has no clips, the SATA cable usually does though. The ATX power cable especially (20/24pin) will give quite a lot of resistance, just make sure to keep pushing the clip down while pulling up equally, meanwhile, keep an eye on the motherboard, it'll flex and bend as you pull it up, but yes, you will have to pull quite hard to get things out, harder than you would normally think, I was the same as you, I keep thinking if I pull/push too hard or force things they'll break, but components are far more robust and resistant than you think.
Q:There have been severe storms in my country Kenya and power lines have fallen and caused a lot of injuries, some fatal to pedestrians, motorists and others.I am sure if power lines were covered with rubber sheathing or some other apopropriatde material, there would be less likelihood of electrocution, serious injury, fire or property damage. I am a lay person in these matters so I am talking from what I have seen. Thanks in advance.
One small addition to what has been said above, and that seem to have been forgotten: When a power cable breaks and falls to the ground, it acts exactly like a whip! It does not matter if it were covered with feathers, the simple whipping force would STILL cut a car in two... (I have seen a cable cutting a HOUSE in two!)
Q:i need to know what kind of cable i need to supply power to my internal dvd player. I ALREADY HAVE AN IDE CABLE
You need a molex cable. Here is a page you can check out to get some 1 to 2 adapters for molex cables. I have ordered things from them before and was very pleased:
Q:ok well my xbox wont turn on anymore i was playing it and it was fine when i put the controller on top of it and moved the power cable and all of a sudden the xbox turned off, so if anybody knows what could of gone wrong or have a solution i would greatly appreciate it.
My xbox had this problem. What power cable are you using? The original or the new one that Microsoft sent out to everyone? They sent out a new one because some Xbox's were melting the cable and some kid got burned or something. At first they replaced only those customers that say theirs had the problem, then they just sent a new cord out to everyone. Anyway, mine never had the power cord issue but I tossed my original and used the new one. That's when I started having problems. My Xbox would turn itself on in the middle of the night sometimes. It would also turn itself off whenever it felt like it. I couldn't get it to turn back on unless I unplugged the power cord and then plugged it back in. And even then, it would turn on and play fine for about 10-20 minutes and then shut off by itself. Really weird. I simply sold my Xbox, never called Microsoft about it, so I never found out what the problem was. So really, my only advice is, if you're using that new power cord, go back to the old one. I'm positive that swapping those cords was the problem for my Xbox.
Q:I need to select a power cord for a computer and other appliances (like a printer). Power cords usually have their amps and voltage (capacities?) imprinted on the outside. What is the rule of thumb for selecting a power cord and why?For example, if my printer has the following requirements:Power Source AC 120V 50/60 HzPower Consumption - 5W-350WWhat amp/voltage type of power cord will do the job?I am of course concerned about overloading the cord with too much electric requirements.(People who actually know this matter SPECIFICALLY only need to reply; please excuse if the electric language is not used right.)
The power cables themselves don't have much bearing on Power Source AC 120V 50/60 Hz (Your typical household outlet) You couldn't acciddentally plug it into a 220 line anyway. Power Consumption - 5W-350w -- How many watts of power it draws from the socket. Typically the thicker guaged wire is better to use, as it has less impedance or so I've been told.
Q:I'm installing aftermarket amp and subwoofers in the trunk. I currently as a temporary fix ran the cable outside and in through the passenger door on the car, then under the carpet to the trunk. Is there a break in the firewall anywhere that I can put it through instead? Thanks for your help!
examine first if there are the different wires that have been given burned apart from the distant twine and the flexibility cable. examine additionally your fuse if that's nevertheless ok. confident, you ought to purchase those wires from a ironmongery shop or an digital keep via ft or via backyard.. For the flexibility cable use gauge 8 or gauge 4 wires, for the distant twine use gauge sixteen or 14. until now setting up the wires be sure to ascertain your amp and your stereo if there are nevertheless working because of the fact short circuit on power cable often ends up in broken the audio factors interior the amp or the vehicle stereo or the two. be sure to double examine all connections and conenct the fuse of the flexibility cable final to circumvent short circuiting
Q:i bought a record player at a garage sale. it is the kind that has to be hook up to a sterio (no speakers of its own). it has the two cables to hook up to the sterio but no power cable. will the power come from the sterio or did i get ripped off?
You need to get a power cable. If you do some research online maybe you can find the manufacturer of the turntable. It may be a common type cord or maybe not. If you e-mail me maybe I can help more.
Q:hi i need to connect a extra cd rom drive to my computer and dont have enough 4 pin power cables in my computer how would i get those and how would i install those. Thanks
www.okorder /... you can get these from any good computer shop. so you connect 1 end to a cable from the power supply and then connect the other 2 ends to the optical drives.
