- Why do you need an extra keyboard for your Laptop when you already have an attached keyboard? Well you need an USB Keyboard to connect it with your laptop. The keyboard must have a cable with USB pin. Just plug it in to your Laptop. If it doesn't have an USB pin then you need extra USB docking station through which you an connect the keyboard to that docking station and the wire from that docking station joins the USB in your laptop.

- Try the free Keyboard Cleaner jan.prima.de/~jan/plok/archives/48-Keyboard-Cleaner.html which locks the keyboard apart from Command Q which you press to restart the keyboard. Works fine with OS X 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion).

- Pianos have 88 keys. Keyboards come in 61, 76, or 88 keys. The average keyboard is 61 keys. I just got one a few days ago, I got mine at a pawnshop for $50.00 and it has 61 keys brand new it cost $160.00 I was just going to buy one new but I didn't want to waste my money on something when I could get it much cheaper. Also if you don't end up like playing you're not out much money. They all come with different features too, weighted keys, song banks, or they teach you how to play, etc. I just wanted one basically to learn on and if I like it I would buy a better quality more expansive one. This one is fine for now and they had ones that where $40.00 there too. Other places you could look would be OKorder, the craiglist basically any online store and of course any store like Best Buy or Target. I'm not really sure what in terms of quality would be a good piano, I've heard Yamaha is good. I have a Casio which is also good. I'm very happy with it.

- Maybe you have some sticky keys or the circuit board of the keyboard is messed up. You should try inspecting your keyboard. If there are no visible errors, open up your laptop and see if the keyboard is connected properly. If still no problems appear, try replacing your keyboard.

- on christmas eve i bought a 64 key casio for i believe it was 50 dollarsand its pretty good. i mean obviously there are better but its still good.my friend is teaching me to play and he even said it was really good for how cheap it was. so if you can wait till then go to target haha.

- I used a laptop for 4 years, and after 4 years, some of the keys were wearing out. (For instance, it was hard to press down the left ctrl and alt key because I used it so much.) However, in general, the keyboard will last quite a long time unless you do something to break it (like drop a book or something onto the laptop keyboard). Even if your laptop keyboard breaks though, you still have a fully functioning computer, and you can go on using an external USB keyboard. All physical devices (including keyboards) will break over time (some sooner than later). So might as well keep gaming on the laptop -- and if the keyboard wears out, get a USB keyboard or a new laptop to keep up with the new games :P
