FAQ

what is the electron equation for aluminum in air (aluminum corrosion)?
Replacing the shingles has nothing to do with finishing an atticIf you need more ceiling height and need to take the whole roof off then yes will be very expensiveUnless the your house was build with attic trusses or the builder added floor joists instead of ceiling joists for future expansion(seriously doubt it) your ceiling joists probably aren't strong enough to use as a floor so it will turn into a very large project.
I took two sheets of Aluminium foil, placed them inside a book with one page separating themI checked to make sure they where insulated from each other, and that they do not connect anywhereWith a piece sticking out of the book of each foil plate, I hooked up my gater clipsStuck a 9v battery for about 10 secondsUnhooked the battery and gave it a testAll I get is zero, nothing, no change, not for one second, only zeroI for some reason cannot get two metal plates to hold a charge of any kindThe battery has a 9v charge on it.
A few things you might also want to consider in this attempt First, the capacitance level you might get with this experiment is very smallIn the picofarad range, which means it will very easily give up its chargeMany Fluke meters can be set for a high impedance input for DC measurementsThe input impedance is 25 mega-ohms on these metersThis should allow you to read the valueAlso, these meters have a capacitance measurement capability that will give you a measured value for your capacitorSecond, some books use inks that are partially conductive and thus will short out your capacitor or quickly bleed off the chargeThis type of ink is used to reduce static electrical charge that may appear on the pages making them harder to turnTo test this place waxed paper above and below the aluminum foil, then place it in the bookHope this helps, Newton1Law
I made chocolate brownies the other day and they were so hard to cut and serve as they were all stuck to the aluminium foilSomeone suggested buttering it? But what do I butter? The aluminium foil to the tray, or the aluminium foil to the brownies? Surely buttering it will make it more sticky? Thanks in advance :)
Use grease proof paper lightly greased or better still is reusable silicon sheets they require no greasing and i find them far superior to use.

Our outdoor cat had a kitten that was born behind our outside washer/dryerIt thinks that the area is her spot to goIt is difficult for me to get behind the machine to clean and w/summer near it's starting to smell and attract fliesIs there anything to spray or put back there to deter it from using that area?? Someone suggested sprinkling a spice on the ground, would this work?? If so, what type???
Cyanne pepper or even some sheets of aluminum foil, (not balled up) will workThe hate to walk on thatMake sure you get the smell out first.

Go to the attic and cut a piece of cardboard to fit around the open portion of the chase and seal it off thereIf you attempt to fill the space you may create a fire hazardIt will not take much to block that but be careful doing things to fireplaces especially if the home is not yoursIf there were ever a question with a problem and it links to something you did you could get introuble.
I need help on making a 3D DNA Double Helix ModelI have to use household stuff and I cant use Styrofoams, Legos, or ClayAlso no candies.Do you have any ideas that I can do?
I remember this project! For mine, I used wire coat hangars wrapped with gimpIf your teacher is really anal about using only found objects, you could use yarn from an old, beat up sweater or different colored fabric scraps from a few ratty t-shirtsUse hot glue to glue it, since it holds really well without any fuss Straws would be good too, even though they aren't very sturdyYou can find them in different colors tooAluminum foil is another option since it's really malleableThe only problem you might have is with the texture, though you can probably figure out a way to smooth it outAt least you'd be able to twist it, unlike the straws :o)
