Q:There are so many choices out there, which work best for your home garden? Is granular or liquid better? Which brands are the best?

Q:I lost my older cookbook and the newer ones, since the 50s doesn't have the recipe.
Yes, I do. If it's the recipe that's in the chicken section, it's great. It's like the one above but this one has additional ingredients like br sugar lemon juice. After browning the chicken in salad oil, remove the chicken and add to the oil: 2 medium onions in 1/4 inch slices 1/2 cup chopped celery. Cook till tender. Add 1 cup catsup, 1 cup water, 1/4 cup lemon juice, 2 to 3 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce and 2 Tbsp each brown sugar, vinegar prepared mustard. Season. Simmer 10 minutes; skim off excess fat.
Q:Everyone around my church is always talking about the great advise they get when they call a Master Gardener. They almost sound like some kind of know all garden God. I'm new here and didn't want to sound dum by asking the church folk, so I am asking you. Where do I hire a Master Gardener and do you know how much thet charge for their service?
save money get your mower repaired and your friend to do the job for you. Cut your lawn each week ,it should only take about 15min if it is about the size of a mini bus. I would use a trimmer first before mowing, do not expect the mower to cut grass that is 2 feet long Regarding the next doors gardener try offering ?10 first or max ?15 and request he takes the rubbish, It will not take him long if he has the right tools when the lawn is eventually cut keep on top of it. retired gardener
Q:The Statistical Abstract of the United States gives the median size of a home garden as 663 square feet.
that means that exactly half of the gardens in the US are bigger and exactly half are smaller than that area.
Q:How to build a Beautiful Green Roof Garden to my home?
some people bring pots up and have container garden. others have ice plants on roof, there is a layered roof papers that protect the roof. i read several articles on this living roofs. you need water for up there and make sure it is strong enough.
Q:Some part of my home garden is covered with ground covering plants (some type of ivy with networked roots). The garden is full of weeds and small trees. If I use Preen or other type of chemicals, can I get rid of weeds? I'm thinking removing all the ground covering and weeds, and cover the area with mulch. If there is a way to have ground covering with weeds well controlled, I may try it. I appreciate your input.
Mulch can help. But there is no final solution to weeds. They'll come back eventually. If you pull them regularly, they will lose energy, and be less vigorous. If you wait until they're everywhere, they have strong roots, they may have already set seed, and your battle becomes much harder. Preen interferes with seeds germinating. It does nothing against weeds that are growing from existing roots, like ivy. If your garden is a veggie garden, after you put it to bed this fall, cover it with cardboard. It will smother weeds, and by spring, you'll find almost NO weeds popping up. The cardboard will have degraded enough that you can just dig trhough it and plant things. It will be like heavy wet paper. Plant your plants. Mulch. Pay attention to weeds that pop up and get them early.
Q:We are remodeling our kitchen, and we liked a kitchen we saw in a Better Homes and Gardens magazine. My wife tore out the page, page Z4 from January 2007 issue. I got this issue out of the library, but no page Z4 (z as in zebra) (Better by Design - Comfort comes to the kitchen article). It must have been some supplement. Does anyone have this issue with this page? We are desperate for the kitchen specs from this article, which they often print at the end of the magazine. Please let me know if you have it, or have an idea what magazine it is really in...thanks!
Go to their home page and click on customer service in the upper right hand corner. Perhaps they will e-mail or fax that page. Or perhaps they have back issues for sale.
Q:I just recently moved into a remodeled home and am renting the house. I was told by my brother-in-law that the LANDLORD should be taking care of/responsible for the gardening issues (backyard/front yard maintenance hiring some professional people). If they fail to do so, then the landlord should take off some $$ off the rent. Is this true? In my lease agreement, she attached a piece of paper to the lease that states that I am responsible to upkeep the yards. Is this true or should I contact her and let her know that the garden isn't my responsibility? Thanks!
In most of the places I've rented, the yard was the responsibility of the renter. It seems as if your lease spells this out all the more clearly.
Q:How or where do I get these coupons? I'm gonna spend about 3000 on floor tiles and I'm gonna need it. I know that ebay has them, but where else could I find them?
I didn't even know they had them but I recently got one by doing my new address change on line with the postal service. Maybe the Home Depot online site has options for coupons.
Q:Which pillows will look best w/ blue sofa?
get a variety of all of them! they all look nice
