- Get a small container of drywall patching compound or spackle. You can get it premixed at the hardware store. Ask someone there and they can help you find it. Take out the old screws and plastic anchor and fill the hole. You could get a little putty knife at the store to do this, or use your finger or a knife with a smooth edge. Whatever you use, be sure to rinse it off before the compound or spackle dries. In the wall surrounding the window are 2x4 studs of solid wood (the window frame is put into the stud frame when it's installed). Get some small screws or nails (again you can ask at the hardware store) at least 1 inch long.
