Q: Hi I was with a friend and her family and they kept referring to some birds at a lake as cranes. I know for sure that some birds there were Great Blue Herons. When I here crane I think of a bird from Asia or something. Anyway these birds were white and I thought maybe they were egrets or something, and this is in Ohio. I'm not looking to prove anyone wrong, I'd just like to find out about cranes- are there cranes in America and if so could these birds be cranes? Thanks!

Q: I caught this crane fly in my garage but is almost the size of a dragonfly. It has a 3 inch wingspan. I saved it in a jar because I though no one would believe me. so do they really get this big or is this thing a freak?
OMG - I saw one of those to! No one believed me, too. I should of saved mine...anyway, I don't know. Sorry.
Q: Please no direct translations. I need the official name of the whooping crane in French.
When I don't know a word and it is not in the dictionary, I enter it in wikipedia and then change the language on the left to see the corresponding article in the other language.
Q: In the private training session, Katniss Everdeen creates a noose, hangs a practice dummy, and uses the paint to write: Seneca Crane. I know this name is mentioned earlier in the book, but I don't remember who Seneca Crane is... Remind me, please?
Seneca Crane is the previous Gamemaker who decided to allow Peeta and Katniss to live after the berry incident. The Capitol killed her and replaced her for that act of mercy. That's why Katniss hung her; she was rebelling against the Capitol and implying that they murdered Seneca Crane.
Q: Well I folded 100 or so cranes from cheap origami paper (red, yellow, green and blue) before I decided that I could fold 1000 cranes a reality. My dilemma is, do I keep the 100 cranes I did and fold 900 of them to fulfill my wish? Or if I discard the 100 cranes and fold 1000, will my wish be granted on the 900th crane? The reason I want to discard the 100 cranes is because it's for my wedding and the color placement of the old cranes isn't fitting at all.Yes I'm aware it's not scientific or realistic, but it's more of faith, I'm not dumb.
Consider what you would like your 100 cranes to mean. Attach strings to your 100 cranes and then hang them in a tree etc so that the wind may carry your prayers where they need to go. Then start again to create the 1000 paper cranes you want for your wedding. PS: The making of the paper cranes involves an act of faith, not the right colour to match your wedding plans. In Japan, the crane represents peace and healing. When we consider the famous Japanese art-form of paper folding (origami) the crane comes to mind before all else. Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes (1977), a non-fiction children’s book written by American author Eleanor Coerr, tells the story of young Sadako Sasaki who lived in Hiroshima at the time of the atomic bombing. Sadako developed leukaemia as a consequence, and lived out the remainder of her short life in a nursing home desperately trying to create one thousand paper cranes. Supposedly, if someone could make a thousand paper cranes his/her wish would come true. Sadako wanted to live. Sadly, she only managed to fold 644 cranes. After her death, friends and family folded the remainder, and buried her with the one thousand paper birds. Today, a statue of Sadako holding an enormous golden origami crane stands in the Hiroshima Peace Park. People regularly leave paper cranes. The plaque on the statue reads “This is our cry. This is our prayer. Peace on Earth.”
Q: Are tower cranes the same as tower cranes?
Tomato, you tomato, potatoes, you potatoTalent exchange of tower crane and tower crane
Q: I'm folding 1000 origami cranes for my upcoming wedding. It's a tradition. I'm trying to find a website that can show me how to make the cranes into a large picture or an idea for a mobile. I found some sites that show pictures of each, but nothing with a how to on it.
from most of the pictures i saw, it seems pretty simple to figure out thinking of it logically. Origami cranes, string, wood sticks, Love and care. And with a bit of your own creativity and whatever supplies you can gather I think you will do a great thing. (making a paper crane now :)

Q: I looking for information on the surname Crane.?
The name Crane was first used among the Boernician people of the Scottish-English border region. It is a name for a person whose was tall, and had long legs. This nickname derived from the Old English words cranuc, and cornuc, which mean crane. Spelling variations occur frequently in Scottish names that date from the medieval era. They result from a general lack of grammatical rules and the tendency to spell names according to sound. Crane has been spelled Crane, Craine, Crain, Cran, Crann, Crayne and others. First found in Suffolk where they were seated from very early times and were granted lands by Duke William of Normandy, their liege Lord, for their distinguished assistance at the Battle of Hastings in 1066 A.D. In the 20th century, the ancestors of many of those Boernician-Scottish people still populate North America. They distributed themselves on either side of the border at the time of the War of Independence. United Empire Loyalists went north to Canada and those who wanted a new nation stayed south. Both groups went on to found great nations. Some of the first North American settlers with Crane name or one of its variants: Jasper Crane who settled in Boston Mass. in 1637; Richard Crane settled in Virginia in 1635; Samuel Crane settled in Virginia in 1653; Mary Crane settled in Virginia in 1684. Some noteworthy people of the name Crane * Harold Hart Crane, American poet * Robert Edward Crane, American disc jockey and actor, best known for his performance in the television sitcom Hogan's Heroes * Stephen Townley Crane, American novelist. * Professor Francis Crane, Law * Sir Harry Crane, * Morley Crane, Pomology * William M. Q: Does anyone know where I can locate a print or lithograph of the chromolithograph done in the 1850's of William John WIlgus' Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman?
Preach is son! I know in my case I ask if something looks good on me or if I look good because half the time I can't tell if something looks hideous on me or not. I always used to get picked on when I was younger as well because i grew up in an area where everybody was blonde haired and blue eyed, and I'm italian with extremely dark features so I stuck out! The popular girls tore me apart and I coudln't STAND to look at myself in the mirror. Yuck, dark, dark times. But then again, those girls were just trying to make themselves more secure, and they're the kinds of people fishing for compliments. heh.
