Q:I just made origami cranes and want to hang them up, each by themselves with just a peice of string....how should i go about doing this? how is it usually done?: TAke a needle threaded with a long piece of black thread, and make a small knot at end of long thread. Push the needle thru the middle of the crane's back and pull the thread all the way thru the hole till the knot catches. pull the needle off the loose end of the thread and make another knot on that end. take a push pin or thumb tack and push the pin thru the knot, then push the pin or tack into the ceiling. FYI, tape never works - I have tried. The black thread lets them flutter a bit, and is invisible most of the time. p.s. ask your parents if you can hang stuff from the ceiling first. they may not want you to do that since it will leave holes in the ceiling when you take them down.

To verify that it can safely handle that load it will be tested by lifting a much heavier proof load. So its capacity must be greater than its safe working load.

Q:How does the torque of a construction crane relate to the torque of a car?: In an automobile, you are looking for torque over a wide range of speeds and loads. A crane does not need to have a great deal of speed in terms of lifting an object but does need a great deal of torque. The result is an automobile needs much more horsepower to meet its goals while a crane can actually lift a huge load with a much smaller amount of horsepower. I personally can remember a lift on one of the construction projects I was field engineer on. The lift of 650,000 pounds was made with two 85 horsepower Ford gasoline engines and two industrial gear boxes.

Q:I started to make 1000 paper cranes to make a wish come true and before I start I have a few questions. How many times can you make 1000 cranes to make a wish come true? Do you have to string them? And how long do you have to make them?: You only have to fold 1000 to make your wish come true. It doesn't matter how long you take on them, but they should look acceptable if you'd like to display them. All you really have to do is fold all 1000 cranes; you do not have to string them, but I think it looks very nice. You could also put them inside of a jar. :)

Q:I got the crane gold 1.6 roller rocker I'm trying to install on my 95 z28 w/ an lt1 and it doesn't seem like they are installing quite right. I got the tall black nuts that hold the rocker down around the stud and the pushrods, that's it. Do I need to use those things that go below the rockers themselves (the things that slide over the stud and the rocker goes over it from the original rockers) or do I just install how I already am with just the crane rockers, black nuts and pushrods?: I'm not sure with the LT1 - I didn't go with the crane units on mine - but are the studs correct for the crane application? I know on some of the applications you need to swap over the studs. Give the crane tech folks a call, and ask them.
