Q:Can steel oxidize?????????
Yes - Steel can oxidize, its most commonly called rust Steel is a metal. Depending on the level of oxidation, you might be able to polish it with very fine steel wool. If is is really bad, then you might need a chemical cleaner such as Naval Jelly, which can be found at the hardware store. But the Naval Jelly might discolor the metal, so then you might need to polish it afterward to return its finish.
Q:Does anyone know about steel framed houses?
the building I work in is steel framed, no humidity problems. I can't believe that steel frame anything causes humidity problems. I would ask for an explanation from whom ever told you this. One thing is cell phones, radios etc. have bad reception due to all the interference.
Q:Pre Fabricated Steel Buildings?
I okorder.com/... NCI produces many brand name buildings. Kirby Pasco If you get technical with your question I probably can help you. I have sold many millions of dollars worth of them. Depending on the manufacturer the directions are usually easy to follow. The only suggestion I have is avoid the brokers. Try and deal directly with the manufacturer. The construction plans are usually specific to your building not generic plans like some brokers have.
Q:desnity of steel?
First you have to convert the coefficient of linear expansion to a coefficient of volumetric expansion. Multiply the coefficient of linear expansion by 3: Coefficient of expansion of steel,β:12E-6/°K x 3 = 36E-6/°K Difference in temperature: 480°K ΔV = VoβΔT ΔV = Vo x (0.000036) x 480 ΔV = 1m³ x 0.017 ΔV = 0.017m³ Originally, the steel was at 7800 kg/m³ Now, the steel was at 7800 kg/ 1.017m³, or 7670 kg/m³ Change in density = 7670 - 7800 = -130kg/m³
Q:i want to see the atomic structure of carbon steel?
This is actually a quite complex question... The atomic arrangement in steels can be controlled over a pretty wide range of different structures. This is really the fundamental reason why steel is such a commonly used material. The different atomic structures produce different physical properties so metallurgists have developed many different processes to control the atomic structure to get the properties they want. One simple answer is that Fe is BCC, body centered cubic at room temperature at equilibrium conditions. When you heat Fe up, it transforms to FCC, face centered cubic. If you continue heating Fe, it goes back to BCC, then it melts. The addition of C makes these structures (and the transformation temperatures) different. Deviating from equilibrium conditions by, for example, cooling very quickly (quenching) creates different atomic structures (one of the most important is known as martensite). Depending on how much C is in the steel, you can also have two different atomic structures (two different phases) present in equilibirum, for example, pearlite which is a mix of alpha Fe (BCC) and iron carbide Fe3C (orthorombic crystal structure). So... you need to think a little more about exactly what you want a picture of. I hope this helps
Q:Welding Stainless Steel?
Yes you can use regular welding rods for stainless steel. But you will not have the properties of the stainless. The weld joint will have a different color than the stainless if you grind/grain/finish the weld. It could also rust. The joint could be weaker. It is best to use a rod that comes as close to the base metal stainless as possible. (30 years welding - certified)
Q:Is mild steel environmentally friendly?
Steel just rusts, it doesn't produce any emissions just sitting there. They even make architectural steel called Corten to rust to a nice patina. If you consider how the steel was made in the first place, a great big NO! Steel making requires massive amounts of electricity plus it gives off some nasty fumes in the liquid state. Leather itself doesn't emit much of anything, but the dyes might. Again though, if you look at how it's made, tanning leather is right up there with steel mills and paper mills for pollution, some of the worst.
Q:What are the best kind of steels for a knife?
i have been a chef for 10 years now and have always had an obsesive composion with my knifes being dual. i hate it. after spending $100's of dollars on knifes i have found a couple of things to be key. where the knife comes from is important. japan and sweden are a notch above the rest. this just has to do with there tradition of fine craftmanship and pride in quality knife making that goes back 1000's of years. the thickness of the blade is important. the thinner the better. and the blade angel most knifes are around 20 degrees but less is better. it makes them easier to sharpen. and don't be fooled knifes need to be hoaned everyday of use the is no such thing as a forever sharp knife. at least not for a chef. so having said that. the best knifes on the market for quality and price are global, mizuno, mac, and the ones i use calphalon katana. investing in a good diamond steel is just as important i use fury fingers by ozzi tech. good luck i wish i had a girlfriend like you.
Q:how strong is carbon steel?
Carbon steel is a generic term. There are many different grades of carbon steel consisting of several different components of various amounts, and there are different types of treatment the steel can go through that changes it's quality. Carbon steel swords are a step up from the crappy stainless steel swords, and other alloys. Sword quality completely depends on the smith. 200 layers doesn't mean there won't be any imperfections. Sword makers make mistakes, especially the lesser experienced ones. Look into the maker(s) of the sword you're looking to buy. Find information on them before deciding. Carbon steel is the steel to have, but that doesn't exclude good or bad quality. Sharpness will depend on the the steel and the smith.
Q:keeping a stainless steel stove clean and shiney?
How grimy is your range? I actually have a stainless range and all I do is discover a soapy sponge on it, with dish cleansing soap. I get rid of each and all of the knobs and burners approximately as quickly as a week (and every time I fry something and splatter oil everywhere, yet i attempt to disguise issues with foil as quickly as I fry to sidestep a multitude). It takes possibly 5 minutes to scrub my range because I shop it clean and not in any respect, ever use it if it has spills on it. i've got found out via the years to wipe issues up right now, or the spills get baked on and become very confusing to get rid of. My range is electrical powered, so I take off the electrical powered burners and gently wash those with a soapy sponge too (I carry them and rub the soapy sponge on them, then carry them below the faucet to rinse, without getting the plug in factor section moist). My range continues to be very clean this way, and that i take advantage of the rougher side of a non-scratch sponge for something that desires some scrubbing. in the experience that your range has undesirable stains caught on it, you ought to use very, very advantageous metallic wool on it. An SOS pad will paintings, do in basic terms no longer rub too problematic or you will take off the shine from the range. SOS pads are ok on each and all of the immaculate areas of the range. whilst completed washing it, take a humid dish towel and wipe each and all of the cleansing soap off, then dry the range and it will seem large.
