Q:I‘m looking in to starting my own business .Ive done ceramics but i like candles.I want to make candles cause i think it would be easy to make and cheaper. And if i had enough money i would make ceramics but its hard to find a cheap kiln for the money i have .
nothing will be easy and fast. Whatever makes money in the long run will require a lot of work and dedication from you. But you are right, candle making requires less training and initial startup money. But I would think they only sell well in winter. Look around on art fairs and talk to sellers of both about their experience. Do some market research before you get started.
Q:Because the ceramic mold is made of gypsum, but I see some cavity structure of ceramic products is not directly drawing generated, that is to say can't pull it out, then I want to know is the core damage modulus? Or is there some other way, to the ceramic mould master for advice, thank you!
There is a process called ceramic installation (by then) need not directly generate the draft several castings after installation
Q:would it be beneficial for my tank? i have an overhead filter so should i put my ceramic rings on it or would it be bad for my fishes, corals and live rocks? thanks
Pull the right side wheels (front rear) once per year minimum. Usable pad thickness can be seen at the ends or on top of the brake calipers. If you feel you aren't seeing them well enough squeeze the outer exposed pad inward with a C clamp or Jorgonson carpenter's slider clamp. Remove the two anchor bolts that hold the caliper on to the caliper bracket. The caliper pulls straight off they will be on top of the caliper bracket in slides or stuck in slides inside the caliper. The pad thickness is measured with a depth gauge to the steel backing plate or a vernier caliper using the tail end, using it as a depth gage. Minumum thichness is as low as .060 some cars are higher - .090. There's no way on this earth to properly inspect the brakes unless the tires and wheels are off the car.
Q:I am an advanced ceramics student, and i am considering building a ceramic horse for my girlfriend. I intended to handbuild it, but I am worried about the overall stability and strength. The legs would be really thin, and I really don‘t want to put a bunch of effort into something that is going to break. We work strictly with white earthenware.
I've made lots of ceramic horses. You are better off if you don't make the legs terribly thin (think more pony than arab), but it's not a major problem. Yes, if somebody throws the sculpture around they are much more fragile than e.g. a pot, particular before firing, but given appropriate care it can be done. While building them put the body on a block of clay to support the weight (put a piece of paper or plastic between block and body). After the legs are strong enough to support the weight you can remove the block. Though if you want to make sure you might considering to leave the block until after firing so it doesn't sag.
Q:I am allergic to metal braces and so my ortho suggested ceramic braces but I have a bonding on my front tooth and I‘m really cautious when it comes to my bonding. And I‘ve read that ceramic braces are really hard to remove plus it can be pretty painul and they have to sand it down or something and I told myself don‘t worry about it And my bonding will be fine but when I heard about how it is to remove ceramic braces I‘m worried even more! My ortho says I‘m allergic to metal cause I had braces before and my gums got all swollen but I don‘t even want ceramic anymore and I was thinking about getting Damon braces but aren‘t they metal to?I feel like I don‘t have anymore options! I‘m really upset about this
if your gums got swollen you may be allergic, or you just may have not kept them clean properly. If you are allergic then cermic brackets will help, if you weren't keeping them clean enough then ceramic won't make any differance. Damon brackets are metal and will be the same issue if you are allergic to the metal. Don't worrk about your bonding, it can always be redone if there is a problem and I am sure that once your teeth are straight even if the bonding needs to be redone they will look alot better than they do now. Ceramic brakcets are likely no harder to remove than metal brackets because both use the same cement, which is bonded to the tooth, and then held to the bracket by mechanical retention (dimples in the bracket base). Whenever brackets are removed the bracket comes off and the cement stays stuck on the tooth, the cement is then sanded off the tooth with little to no damage to the tooth
Q:how do i paint Ceramic tile?
There is a product by Zinnser called Glossy Surface Primer. Prime them with that and then you can paint them with any colored semi gloss paint or glossy paint that you want to.
Q:So, I‘m hoping to get my braces on before September and I was wondering if I were to get ceramic ones, would they have the same results as the metal ones? I really want the ceramic ones because they look more appealing and and a lot of my friends are getting their braces off and im about to begin so yeah. i would prefer the clear ones. if there are any people who have had experience w/ clear/ceramic please let me know, tips, how to get the best results would be much appreciated. thanks so much!
hey! so I have ceramic braces and yes, they work exactly the same and you will get the same results. if your treatment time is say 2 years, it wont make a difference if you have ceramic or metal. how do i know this? one, i did a crap load of research before i got my ceramic braces and two, i asked my ortho right before i got them on. now, in terms on aesthetics.they really do look A LOT better than metal. now when i say that i mean that they are simply less noticeable. when a person smiles you don't see a bunch of metal and honestly, it has taken a couple months for some people to even know that i have them on. it's not as if you are hiding the fact that you wear braces, they just are not so crazy obvious and they blend in better. I can't even tell you how happy i am that i got ceramics. they work EXACTLY the same as metal. before i got mine on I read on some web sites that the brackets were not as strong as metal. that is simply not true. unless you are chewing on rocks it makes no difference. I personally have had mine on for a year now and have had zero problems. one big thing that i kept on reading about before i got mine were that they stain. there are a lot of misconceptions on this on so here is the real deal: the ceramic BRACKETS do NOT stain. what can stain are the clear BANDS that go around the wire to keep the wire on the brackets. these little bands get changed every month. in terms of staining it's not some crazy yellow stain. you cannot even tell as it all blends in with your teeth so much.you can get around that by just having grey on the little bands if you want although i have always stuck with clear as they have never stained for me. all in all, i say get the ceramic ones. they look so so so much better than metal if the metal look is what bothers you. i am really happy with mine and would recommend them to anyone! don't let anyone tell you that they don't do as good of a job or that they take longer; it's simply not true. hope that helped!
Q:i want to buy a kiln and get into creamics. can any one tell me about the paints.what kind ? i also know there are stains and glazes. any good sites that sell in small amounts?
Most craft stores might carry these.
Q:I have a revlon tourmaline ceramic flat iron, but it takes forever to straighten my hair. My mom says to put it at a higher temperature, but I‘m not sure it‘ll work, plus I am afraid of hair damage. My stylist straightens my hair with no problem. When I straighten it, I have to hold in every place that needs straightening for around 20 seconds or more. Is this just a bad flat iron or should I make the temp higher (its at 350 when I do it).

Q:I need art credit for high school but I don‘t want to take an extra elective. I am considering taking it over the summer but I‘m wondering if it is worth the Tu/Wed/Thu 9 to 1 for eight weeks and is the class easy and fun or boring and hard. Thanks.
I love Ceramic so I found it easy. I've taken three classes in Ceramic so far including one class in advanced Ceramic and I loved all three classes. Most people don't enjoy Ceramics though because it's a lot of work and you get quite dirty in Ceramic classes. If you like art, clay and don't mind getting dirty then you'll probably like Ceramics. If you don't like art, clay and hate getting dirty then you should probably avoid taking ceramics.
