- I have wondered the same thing...Chin implants are made of solid silicone... breast implants are also not made of bone, cartilage, skin or fat so i guess if you would get burned and you had a SILICONE implant or breast implants and you were in a fire they would probably burn together with the rest of your body. But if you get close enough to the fire to burn your implants THEN that should be the LEAST of your worries.... :)

- It takes alot of chemicals to produce plastic. Plastic is extremely strong and takes forever to decompose. As it degrades, it releases back into the environment (biosphere, atmosphere) the chemicals whch are quite harmful. Decomposing plastics found in our waters (hydrosphere), are harmful to the marine life and birds as they will attempt to eat it thinking it's food. The wildlife get entrapped and caught in it frequently which can be life-threatening or fatal. That's in addition to the chemicals being released into the water.

We are having plastic shopping bags banned in supermarkets from next month which is excellent, I have been taking my own bags for shopping for years. I think you have paper bags in the US supermarkets - they can be recycled? but it's better to take your own and keep reusing them. Edit Just a thought: If you were thinking about danger, then my concern would be that children shouldn't have plastic bags they could suffocate in, and that some plastics give off toxic fumes if burnt.
