If I opened the roll and put the pennies in a tube (assuming I don't get fingerprints on them), will they be worth less than if I just keep them in the original paper roll?
- it depends if the paper wrapper is a special mint one or just a bank one. if a special wrapper it is best to keep it in it. The mint is selling the rolls with a special wrapper. However paper is not good for coins for most wrappers are cheaply made and have acids in the paper. A hard plastic coin tube is the best for it is archival to an extent, for air still can get in there. A pair of white cotton coin gloves stops the finger prints on the coins problem. A soft clean handkerchief that has no fabric softener on it works well also, but one needs to be more careful. hope this helps.

Insert the wooden handle.of your hammer into the receiver as close to the barrel mount as you can. Evenly as possible rotate counterclockwise. Remember, it's not going to come off easily. Replace the spring and put the follower back in. put the tube back on the receiver. I find it easier to push the follower into the tube a little until you get the threads started. be careful not to crossthread. tighten it up the same way you took it off.

- Depends on where you live. Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, or other states that are very humid most of the time will keep them for a good long while. (Assuming you don't have them in an air conditioned place all the time that dries the air). If you were in Arizona or California or somewhere like that with very dry conditions most of the time; they will be noticeable drier in only a week or so. The tubes are really more just for presentation (like wax on a whiskey bottle) than they are for preservation. Ideal for cigars is around 75 deg F and 70% humidity. Compare where you have them to that to guage their longevity without proper storage. A ziplock bag with some pieces of dried fruit (apricot, peach, etc) is one home remedy for cigar storage, but I can't speak for it's actual effectiveness. The bag itself probably does most of the actual preservation. If they will fit, you can just get a large mason jar and buy these disposable humidty packs from a cigar company or online. Tear the top off of the envelope and place inside the jar with the smokes. Only about $8 invested and you will have pretty good preservation for at least 6 weeks (or until you put in a fresh pack).

- That's an unusual question. MANY years ago (50 or so) when we used to run a lot of pregnancy tests by utilizing Leopard Frogs, we used to use V-bottomed test tubes to spin down the sediment. Frankly, that's pretty much the only example I can remember where we used them. But I would think that they are still around. I would suggest you contact a laboratory supply house or two or three, and ask them. They are much more likely to be able to give you an answer than us geeks on the Yahoo medicine board. The stuff I used 50 years ago might not be around anymore.
