They provide water retention and cohesiveness to mixtures. ETICS/EIFS
To save cost of heating or cooling power, ETICS (EIFS) (External Thermal Insulation Composite System / Exterior Insulation Finish System) is used to apply thermal insulating material and reinforcing mesh to the exterior of buildings.
HPMC is used in this application as a functional additive to improve adhesion strength, workability and pot life. Also it helps to delay drying out of the mortar surfae.

Or try the Mopar limited slip additive, its designed to aid in torque transfer in differentials and is required to be used in any Chrysler with a limited slip, but it might do the same things with the differential inside the 249 transfer case. either way, i dont think it could hurt to try.
