Q:I used to always just take a towel to the beach and lying on the beach. but I always wanted to have a beach chair so I could sit and watch the ocean,read and enjoy and relax.I bought a little beach chair a few days ago and love it. Just I don't have a car and have to carry it. It has a bag though but it must be carried anyway.My mother says I just threw some money away. I like it a lot but hearingwhat mom says and knowing that I have to carry it, I'm just thinking maybe I have only wasted my money. What do you think?

I prefer the chair. I can sit up and see the water or recline and sleep. The surface of the chair is smooth instead of lumpy like the sand. My chair has a cup holder so I can put my drink in it and it doesn't get sand all over it. The chair is just much better overall. As long as you don't mind carrying the chair on the bus, it was not a waste of money.

Q:My wife and I are putting chair rail in various places of our new home. We have seen a few pictures of rooms in magazines in which the chair rail was quite a bit higher (for instance, about 5 feet up on an 8 foot ceiling) than usual and liked the way it looked. My dad told us that we probably shouldn't do this. Anyone have any opinions?

Some older homes do have very high chair rails or what are sometimes called dados or wainscoting capped with chair rails. Sometimes they have ledges for hanging pictures or for resting plates and platters, too. Especially in Europe where you see it a lot more than in the states, chair rails or wainscoting will be higher on the wall because the ceilings are so much higher and they are intended to be in proportion with the height of the ceiling and also to make the room more cozy.

No, you don't need to change it, it will be fine. It only means that the door openings might be a little wider to accommodate a wheelchair going through, especially in the bathroom, there wont be any steps inside, and their probably will be a handle in the shower stall. Other than that I cant think of what else might be different, but you don't need to change your room.

Q:Looking for something really light weight with a backrest and legs that can support itself. I've seen the GCI PICO Chair (10 lbs.) and Quick-E-Seat (4.5 lbs.) which are both nice, but I'd like to get the weight down a bit more if I can.

However, back when I got mine I think it probably cost $8. It's not very comfortable but its good enough to cook and eat your dinner without getting your butt wet on the ground.
