After a few feedings they will turn a dark red or deep brown and you can see them, they look kind of like ticks to me. They will also nest in the bed frames and wall coverings, dressers, trim boards, window frames, door frames, etc. Living in an apartment sometimes they can come from an infested neighboring apartment just like roaches and ants. Aspen contains harmful chemicals and shouldn't be used for small animals, even if they aren't pregnant. Toilet paper, when wet, has been known to get stuck on baby rodent's faces and strangle them. I suggest something that is safe, but can handle getting wet. Carefresh, fleece, old towels, paper towel (thicker than toilet paper) or even newspaper would probably be fine. :)

Q: I got a new full sized bed. The problem is my full/queen sized bedding does not fit. The height of the bed and the box spring togeather is so high my bedding doesn't fit right my my bed. If you lay the mattress on the floor you can do without it, however putting the mattress directly onto the bed frame would warp the bed. Also, unless you are having someone in your room that cares what your sheets look like, I suggest just continuing to use them, it is a huge help to your wallet.

Beds are so expensive!: From experience on wasting my money on beds, we got a big hard plastic dog basket from a second hand site for cheap and use a blanket folded up to fit in the basket. The blanket is just cotton with a little soft filling so fur does not stick to it and it washes easily. The best part about it is that I can lay it outside, bring it with me anywhere and the dog still knows this as his bed without the basket. Usually the pillow ones I found are too big and get ruined too quickly because they are not easy to wash. I've had the same blanket and basket that 4 dogs now have shared for 8 years. :-)
