Q: How much did you pay for your insulated metal door w/installation? Im looking for ballpark costs. Thank you!
depends okorder
Q: Aluminum alloy doors and windows how to play glass glue to play well
Familiar!
Q: Aluminum alloy door and window frame and hole wall gap for how much, in the specification can be found
Look at the surface material, the general coating is 5mm enough, if it is stone, you need 20-30 or even larger.
Q: I have a storm door that has the metal panel at the bottom. My dogs were fighting the panel came out. I still have the panel but, cant figure out how to get it back in. Ive tried but, I always seem to bend it when trying to get the last side in.Whats the secret?
ususally you can take one side of the door frame apart to give you extra room to put the panel back in place being the panel sits in a groove going the whole way around i assume but you could always force it back in if theres enough give if the door frame doesnt come apart
Q: I am going to put a metal frame screened in room, but want a wooden screen door. Is this possible?
All according to how heavy door is and how cut up your hands are from handling metal framing. Seriously, you may have to frame door using metal backed with wood. 2x2 or 2x4. Whichever looks best and works. Again, depends on choice of door.
Q: The door is wooden, but the door frame is metal (I found out when the screw wouldnt go in no matter how I hammered it). Is there a way to install a hasp to put padlock on? (Are there screw drivers for metal surfaces?) Or is there any other way to have the door locked without having to installing a cylinder lock?
Well, for starters, you don't use a hammer to drive screws. You won't even have much success in wood that way, never mind metal. And you don't use a special screwdriver to go into metal. You use the right screw, and you will need a drill or screw gun also. If there's metal around your door frame, it's probably a sheet of it, not solid. You drill a pilot hole and then use a sheet metal or self-tapping screw which can be driven using any screwdriver after the pilot hole is done, or you use a corded drill or a cordless screw gun to drive a self-drilling screw into the metal. You must use a power driver for that, and one with a bit of strength to it. A cordless screwdriver won't do it. You have to drill fast for some seconds so the head of the screw can drill its own hole. Once that happens, the threads will catch in a few very quick turns. Be aware of that because if you're not ready your hand and wrist can get wrenched around pretty fast as the screw drives home.
Q: everytime i touch the handle of a metal door i get a quick shock even if there are some wires around.
it,s called static electric charge........turn up your humidifier.......change your shoe,s........carry a metal object in your hand.....like a key......touch it to the car door first.....it will dissipate the charge!
Q: Aluminum alloy doors and windows what is called on the light
There is no such name is only slippery, above, on the solid said
Q: Aluminum doors and windows how to dismantle
Is rivets riveting up, then the rivet removed, with a screwdriver on top of the rivets, with a hammer screwdriver, knock down can be removed
Q: what is the best way to paint the interior side of a metal door; ? It is in the kitchen which exits into the garage...... what kind of paint should be used ? and does it need primered? What type of bursh, roller excetera would be best to use?? so to leave the least bursh, roller ect. marks ..... paint wise id like something that would be washable. Thanks
If there is no rust, just use a good interior latex paint. If there is rust, sand lightly and paint with a metal primer. If there isn't any rust, and you are changing the color of the door, you may want to prime it first with a primer like Kilz or Zissler. If the door is all you are going to paint, a quart of primer and a quart of paint will be plenty. You will probably have some left for future touch-up. Clean the area of the door that you are going to paint. Use something like Windex, and follow up with plain water on a cloth. For best results, take the door off of it's hinges, and lay it down on something like sawhorses, or four 5 gallon plastic buckets under the corners. The hinge pins will pop out from underneath if you tap a small nail in the little hole in the bottom of the hinge. If you want a smooth finish, use roller naps with 1/4 thick nap on a full sized roller frame. If the door has a raised area, you will need a brush for the areas that the roller will miss. If you want it to be washable, use a semi-gloss or eggshell finish paint. You may go with full gloss, but it may be harder to roll out smooth. Lay down a drop-cloth, or lots of newspaper under the door. If you buy your paint at a home center store like Lowe's or Homer De Poe, the person in the paint dept may be able to give you some pointers on rolling techniques. Have fun!
