- Q: 1. After we have plucked the last of our tomatoes off the plant, should we bring it inside for the winter or does it die after one season? they are those little grape tomatoes if it makes a difference)2. Every apartment in our complex has a little space for a garden right outside. We didn't get around to planting anything in ours this year, but next year we want to. Should we pull out the weeds and wildflowers and mulch before winter or in the spring?3. I have a leather purse, and I need to take it on a week long trip we're leaving for this weekend (it's the biggest purse I have), some of the stitching is coming out on one of the handles, and the only leather repair shop in town can't repair it for 2 weeks. Is it ok for me to use a heavy needle and threat to temporarily stitch it, if I use the same holes where the old stitching was? All the stitching on that handle will come out anyways when I get it professionally repaired....
- 1 you can try is the plant is in a pot-- it has flowers. tomatoes are annuals= live 1 season die. #2 go out before the ground freezes, pull weeds, flowers ,etc. either till the soil w/ a mechanical roto-tiller or double-dig w/ a spading fork shovel-- to 'double-dig' is to dig down 1 spade depth, turn the earth so that the former top is rotated 90 degrees --do this for the entire bed. leave it exposed for the winter---then in late winter/early spring work over the bed again adding compost, maures, etc. (double-digging is hard work--so if you have a weak back-or medical issues either hire a teenager to do it or use the roto-tiller which can be rented by the hour in many larger cities) #3 try using waxed thread and an awl -which is a heavy needled hand tool made for this work.
- Q: Hello, My fiance and I are looking for a secluded and/ or garden venue for our wedding next year. It is set to be on a SUNDAY evening Between the weeks of April 16th and May 16th. Sundays are usually offered at a cheaper price. I am looking for a Ceremony and Reception area for $1,000 or less. If you know of one that is a ceremony of reception only, please let me know. It needs to be located in the Central Florida. Or no more than 45 min. from Orlando! =) Thanks so much!!
- check out Descanso Gardens in la Canada/Flitridge. an exceptionally advantageous region and that they have small to vast ceremony places. They close early so a prior due afternoon wedding ceremony would be next to private. unfastened parking too!
- Q: where to go if i needs tips on how to make my outdoor look beautiful
- Garden Web is a good site. I think you have to sign up if you want to ask questions, but it's free.
- Q: My friend is named Bryce and he likes rice. He thinks it is absolutely impossible to grow rice in their garden. So is it possible? P.S. He thinks he's wild like wild rice, but I think he resembles calm rice more. Just saying.
- Given the price of rice, it wouldn't be practical to try to grow rice in a home garden and I believe it would be very difficult or impossible to grow rice patties in a home garden.
- Q: In the Better Homes and Gardens magazine there was a recipe for butterscotch almond bars. It required a cake mix. i was wondering if we just add the cake mix, or follow the directions on the cake mix box as well.
- I have not seen the Better Homes article, but from experience with recipes that use cake mix is that you just add the cake mix and disregard the box instructions. The reason some recipes will let you use cake mix is just because all the dry ingredients are already measured and mixed to save you time. Just add wet ingredients, pop in oven and voila! I believe this is true for your situation because your trying to make butterscotch almond bars, not cake with butterscotch and almond on it, so you don't need to follow any cake directions, you just need the goodies already mixed.

- Q: My mom and I are growing some summer squash in our garden. All of the squash up untill this point have rotted and then eventually develop this white (yeast like) fuzz on them with black tips. Now we have three very nice and harvestable sized squash on the plant now. Are these healthy looking ones safe to eat?I'm worried my plant has some disease and I know nothing about gardening as this is my first year with a garden. I'm sure as long as they don't show any signs of rotting, odd coloration, mushiness etc they are fine to eat but you never know. Thanks for any help
