- Q:husband built a beautiful porch with planter boxes on the side I want to grow spices can anyone give me links with how to info and pictures of the plants
- You probably mean herbs, not spices. Most spices grow in tropical or subtropical areas. Herbs can be grown in the home garden in Northern America and Europe. I've listed a link for growing herbs. Just stay away from the mints-they are too invasive for a planter box.
- Q:My grandmother updated her cookbook and passed on to my mother but the old recipe is not in any of the versions we currently have. If anyone has an old copy or the recipe it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
- Here is the recipe from my B H G Cookbook that I got in 7th grade cooking class. That would have been about 1950. I hope this is the recipe you are looking for. It sounds delicious. STUFFED ZUCCHINI SQUASH - BETTER HOMES GARDENS 6 medium zucchini 3 cups soft bread crumbs 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1 small onion, minced 3 tablespoons minced parsley 1 teaspoon salt Dash pepper 2 beaten eggs 2 tablespoons butter or margarine Wash zucchini, cut off ends; don't peel. Cook in boiling salted water for 5 minutes. Halve them lengthwise, remove pulp with spoon. Combine pulp with bread crumbs, cheese, onion, parsley, salt, pepper and eggs. Fill zucchini shells. Dot with butter; sprinkle with more cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Makes 6 servings.
- Q:cheapest, yet reliable and dependable,,,,,about one acre garden
- Softened water shouldn't be used to water a garden. Softened water contains salt. This salt can disrupt the osmosis that delivers water to the plants. I would get a standard water softener but split apart your water system so your garden water isn't softened. If you need to vary the pH in your garden, there are a variety of methods for doing this. Any garden center should be able to help you.
- Q:I heard something about being able to order Home and Garden Party products online. Has anyone else heard anything about that? I have ordered Home and Garden Party products before. They have some really nice candles and stoneware. Would like to hear from a designer.
- I okorder . Let me know if you have any other questions about Home and Garden Pary. Have a Lovely day!
- Q:a) A proper outdoor garden.b) Pot garden on balcony.c) Roof top garden.d) Small court yard garden.
- none of the above
- Q:When I click on download widget on the Better Homes Gardens website, a loud bell sounds and nothing happens. I want to import that widget to my Yahoo! widget control panel.
- The bell means that it will not allow you to transfer that Widget into Yahoo! Firewall. It is because Yahoo! is only familiar with itself and only itself downloads. Hope it helps :)
- Q:What are the garden decoration notes?
- To ensure the overall garden garden design of scientific rationality and the safety of the entire building, and in the balcony with a protective fence around to ensure the safety of personnel
- Q:i'm about to plant a garden this year but since i have a dog, i have to be sure the plants are non toxic to him. i would appreciate it if someone gave me a list of all the edible and safe plants for dogs.thanx!
- As a fellow Boxer owner, I know you have your hands full. You can use the other methods described below, and they may help, but the real answer is excercise and then more exercise. You say she has plenty but how much is that? My Boxer is the same way when she does not get to run or go for a long walk. I come home to find she has taken things (like today was a package of curtains, the last time it was a picture frame) out into the yard to play with, even though she has a Cocker Spaniel as a playmate and can go in and out of the house into a large fenced in yard! She can run for an hour or go for a 4.5 mile walk and then run some more. I try to give her a run every day, but can't always do it now that it's getting darker earlier, so I play ball with her on the stairs. Boxers are high energy dogs, and it sounds like yours is finding ways to release some of it. She may also need mental stimulation - teach her the find it game. Hide small tidbits around the room while she is in another one. Bring her near the first one and say find it. Keep working with her a little each day until she knows what find it means. My dog can be told to find specific things, she knows how to find her basketball, soccer ball, bone, hoofie, Dad, etc. I'm planning next to teach her how to pull a cart - that should keep her busy, and a dog with a job is a happy one. Good luck - Boxers Rule!
- Q:how do you secure a green garden fence?
- HI...... i recomend you go to another catagory * try Home Garden * this is Pets catagory * good luck
- Q:Does anyone have any recommendations for finding an older 2001 issue of Better Homes and Gardens? I'm looking for a Pastry recipe featured in one of the issues (with the 1785 Inn Buleberry Pie) and none of the libraries in my area carry the older issues. I know you can sign-up and log onto the site but I don't see the logic in paying an annual subscription for just one recipe. Any thoughts or recommendations?
- Read the questions on these boards. It will become abundantly clear that not everyone can follow a recipe. For what it's worth, I always vary recipes when I bake, and that would be why people consider me to be a good baker. The ability to customize a recipe to be exceptional, as well as the ability to make your baked goods beautiful is what sets apart the average from the great.
