Both places informed me that it's not a good idea to have it pierced with a bar straight off, as the pressure from the jewellery combined with the swelling when first pierced can seriously slow down the healing rate. Is this true? The second place said they will pierce both holes with rings, and these can be changed to a bar after around 6 to 8 weeks.Is this the best option? Thanks for any replies.
- yeah that is a better idea. it prevents the bar from getting ripped out, rejecting, and generally makes it less likely to get caught up in your hair while it's still sore.

- Q:I had my scaffold done on friday, and it's still very sore and swollen. My boyfriend's accidentally caught it a couple of times but not badly and i was wondering if the pain and swelling is normal and if there's anything i can do for it. - Q:So I had a scaffold/industrial done about 10 weeks ago, and its been infected at the top hole only for about 3/4 weeks. It has like a little bubble near the hole and sometimes its filled with pus a little bit and sometimes its not. Well I went the doctors about 2 weeks ago and he prescribed me a weeks worth of antibiotics as well as anti-septic cream. So I took the pills for a week and it was clearing up, I was also applying the cream twice a day. But then yesterday I noticed the lump has gotten a little bit bigger. I don't know what to do, should I take it out? But I really don't want to. And plus the doc said to wait up to 3 weeks and if nothings changed to go back and take it out. If I continue to use the cream, will it eventually go? Thanks :)

- Q:I know it's soon, but my piercings swollen and quite sore when knocked slightly.I've only had it three or four days, but there's a swollen round lump right next to one pierced hole and I was worried it could be an early sign of a keloid. But I don't know if it's too soon to tell yet.I know they can take up to 6 months to heal, if not more, but I'm kinda paranoid about it.I've rinsed it after showering, used salt water on it every day and apart from that just washed it with water on a cotton bud.Any advice?
- I had my industrial for 13 months and it never healed. I decided to retire it and the piercing sites closed up within 6 hours. Seriously, my advice to you is to just take it out. They are wayyyy more trouble than they are worth.
