Q: Hi, my old laptop has broken: when i try to put the power cable into the socket on the laptop, it only goes in on a certain angle and never stays there even when taped, so its impossible to get the laptop on for more than a few seconds. I've tried different power cables too, and nothing seems to work, so it must be the actual laptop problem... how can I get the laptop to stay on to retrieve some photos that I have got on there? Thanks
you will no longer get lots money for a computing device without stress. right here is what to do: (a million) purchase a caddy ( a container that turns the stress into an exterior USB stress) ?10 - ?20 (2) take the stress out of the previous device, positioned it in the caddy, connect it to a distinctive computer (3) use the different computer to wipe the stress (4) flow the stress back to the computing device (5) sell the computing device (and the caddy, in case you do no longer want it; notwithstanding that's properly worth conserving it for emergencies).
Q: The power company are doing some work on our road. and are going to be moving the terminal thing on the side of our house (2nd floor side wall) where the electric comes to the house and feeds both ours and next door (semi-detached). We have seen some dwellings that have a long UPVC bright orange plastic pipe covering the cable for a few meters and wondered why they do this?
It is to protect the cable and people and animals. It stops animals chewing and protects in case of hitting the cable.
Q: I just got a cheap intel i3 custom pc build on OKorder. But, i have no idea on how to set up all those PSU cables and the fans and everything else (seller thought it was a great idea to unplug every cable inside, which led to me turning on the pc assuming everything was good to go which led to the cpu overheating after turning it on) But anyway, i need to know how to setup the psu cables. My PC looks like a mess with all those cables jumbled up together. There are 4 distinct think cables sticking out from the PSU and all the other cables come from the case or the fans. Some of the cables come with numbers (1, 2, 3) and some are already plugged into the mobo, so i don't want to touch those. How to do this?
CD/DVD drives and hard drive all use the same power connectors (multicolored), so plug them in whichever way you want. There is no specific order. Don't remove any ribbon cables, and if you wish to have a floppy drive, the power cable is slightly smaller than normal ones. Commonly, fans can be plugged in to any port on the motherboard as long as they reach without straining the cable. They can only be inserted one way and are likely three-prong so it should be easy. The numbers on your cords don't matter.
Q: When talking about power supply's, what is Modular Cabling?
if okorder ... you will notice on the back of the psu it has connects for all sort of power supply connections, atx, sata, etc just means u can use a certain amount of power cables, modular cabling for psu's is just done by case modders
Q: I have a Maxtor 3200 and I accidentally plug in the wrong power cable for it. I saw the light flicker on then off. I realized my mistake and tried to plug it in its correct cable but now it won't turn on at all. I figure that the wrong cable must of forced too much energy through it. I have a lot of important files on there. I know that fixing it won't be cheap, I fully realize that. However, is there any hope of retrieving my files at all?
sond a thugh blown it but if you take it to a store and see if they can recover the data of the platters, you may get lucky if you get the right people?
Q: What models and specifications does the cable have? Do not understand the cable with the power cable is not the same thing, or contains the relationship?
Your USB cable is really different. People are red and black is negative, green and white is the data transmission.
Q: i have a dell inspiron 9100. for some odd reason, it won't recognize its power cable. I have tried all outlets in my room that I can plug it into.
did you try to remove the battery
Q: i bought a video card off OKorder and i did everything but i don't know if i connect both of the cables to the power supply...i currently only connected one but do i do both…
I can't tell which ATI card that is, but if you mean that it gave you two 6 pin power connectors or something then yes, you really should plug in both since A) it's not good to give your video card less power than it wants, even if it works regardless and B) if you want to overclock at all then it's necessary. So yes, whatever power connectors are on the card should be plugged in with the corresponding power supply connectors..
Q: we have one control cable 120 VAC contains 7 conductors and another power cable of 480 VAC each contains 7conductors. can be installed in one conduit
It is not the best way to do it. There may be some capacitive or inductive coupling between the 480 and 120 circuits that may adversely affect the controls. An accidental short between the 480 and 120 circuits would probably be a disaster for your controls.
Q: as far as i know, the only cable that connects the hdd with my motherboard is the sata cable, is this the cable that will do both transfer data and also provide electricty? or do i need another cable to connect the hdd and to power supply? same for my sata dvd burner, thx!
No, SATA does not provide power as well. There is a connector interface that connects to the legacy power connector and adapts to the SATA/Optical, same is true for the SATA H.d.'s and most of the time, most SATA, and RAID devices have the legacy connector on it as well.
