Q: Can you Spackle over ceiling tile and then paint it, or do you have to rip all the tiles out and Sheetrock the ceiling to have a seamless ceiling?
Spackle Ceiling
Q: The existing ceramic tiles on the floor run up to the cabinets and appliances. Should I lay the floor first and then the cabinets or the cabinets first?
you would want to lay your tile floor first. your base cabinets are 21inches to the toekick so measure off the wall about 18inches do not tile the 18inches saves tile and easier to install cabinets if you have to cut the bottom of the cabinet. as far as your appliances are conserned, tile the fridge to the wall and stove and dishwasher only one tile under it. you wont see past the tile and you put plywood the rest of the way. easier to install your stoves' anti tip into the wood rather than tile. your dishwasher will slide right into place and would be easy to take out if you have to repair it.
Q: I am redoing my bathroom floor and I am going to use stick on tiles how do I put them on? Do you just stick them on the
For your best adhesion. its best to start out with a clean wood sub floor. Depending on what is down now, its best to put a new luan sub floor. These you can sometimes go over whats there now and sometimes its best to rip out and start new. Always start from the middle and work to the out side. But if your tile lays out to less than a 1/2 tile, move the tile over the center line by a 1/2 tile. Now MOST peel n stick are directional so they must be layed all in one direction.. This is personal preference, but I like to have a whole tile at the doorway and what ends up in back is the way it is unless its a real small pc. Dry lay out the tiles to see what you like.. Any flooring questions you can e mail me thru my avatar.. GL
Q: i have a tile back splash that runs all along my counter including behind my sink and behind my stove. it is a small 1 tile, and i‘m pretty sure it‘s original to the house (40‘s) so it‘s getting kinda grimy. no matter what i do to clean it, it‘s so tough, because of kitchen grease and splatter. the grout isn‘t sealed so it absorbs stains. i keep seeing people say sprinkle baking soda on tile, let it sit, and then clean with vinegar, which would be great if this was a floor, but its a wall, so if there are any solutions, that would be great. natural preferred. i really don‘t want to replace this. painting it is an option, so suggestions on paint for tile would be appreciated as well.
magic erasers are great for this sort of thing. if it's ceramic tile they sell this stuff that works really good call tile guard. use apply a thin coat to the entire area (grout included) let it dry and wipe off with a damp sponge. this also is a good way to clean your grout. regardless if it's on the floor or being used as a backsplash.....I wouldn't suggest painting ceramic tile if doesn't work and the paint won't stick.
Q: What is the white powder on the back of the floor tiles?
Is the end of the powder, the production process must have some raw materials Does not affect the combination of tiles and cement Can ignore its existence
Q: i was wondering if it would be a good idea to use patio tiles or something similar as flooring for a bearded dragon tank, im thinking of getting one but there are a lot of different opinions on what to put on the floor for them, i thought of patio tiles, as theyre originally from rocky areas and they cant caause impation, if it isnt a good idea please offer alternitivesthnx:)x

Q: Trying to clean my kitchen's Ceramic tiles . Does any one know a good way to clean stain from Ceramic tiles and how to prevent it in future.
what is the stain caused from?
Q: What are the benefits of installing tile in kitchen and bathroom or would linoleum be better? Also, how hard is it to install tile floors. I‘ve had friends who‘ve had no experience and they did it and did a good job. I am just a bit skeptical of doing it myself but just wondered if there are videos out there that shows you how to do it.
There are several videos on installing ceramic tile. If you go to any home center (Home Depot, Lowe's or Menard's) you can get on and even how to books. You can also check out the library and rent a video and most times the how-to are free. As far as installing tile, I have worked in home improvement for 13+ years and it really is easy. It all starts with the sub floor preparation. Usually home owners have to install 1/4 tile backer over a bed of mortar using a 1/4 notched trowel. The advantage of putting tile in your kitchen/bathroom is the durability. The tile is not going to tear, stain, discolor or fade. Plus it should add value to your home having in your home. I hope this helps you out.
Q: Small size tiles for external walls
According to the construction industry standard, the external walls of small tiles commonly used size specifications are: ???? 45 * 45mm; ???? 45 * 95mm; ???? 45 * 195mm; ???? 100 * 100mm; ???? 100 * 200mm; ???? 110 * 250mm; ???? 140 * 280mm; ???? 150 * 150mm. ???? Commonly used are 100mm * 100mm and 150mm * 150mm two specifications.
Q: Suggestions and stories needed. We have 3 kids, 2 dogs (inside). I am on the fence. We bought stuff for doing the tile but now I am thinking laminate.
Tile. Your dog won't be able to grip on the laminate very well at all and will slip all over the floor making a lot of noise all the time. You would have to get the more expensive laminate for it to last with so much use within your family, so you may as well tile. Tiles will last for many many years, laminate especially with dogs won't last the distance. You can get tiles that look like, and are coloured like laminate. Best of both worlds. Good luck
