- there are a few ways to light a person and various types of lighting. you can use a hot light and move it around the person until you get the lighting you want. with a hot light you can light from the sides, behind, over head or even directly in front, but for that make sure the lighting is coming from behind the camera so its not in the way. be careful of the position of the lighting because if it is in the path of the camera lens there may be a light flare. you can also use a soft box as well. it diffuses the lights so that they are not as harsh as the hot light. the hot light shows the details, flaws and all. the soft light hides it more while still showing off the facial features. also be careful of where you are standing because if you are in white, you'll be your own reflector. you can use reflectors to bounce like onto the subject. things like a mirror or aluminum foil would be cheap and easy. well good luck
- Q: Is fluorescent lighting true lighting? I was told that it is false lighting and that it distorts color and image but then I was also told that It's true lighting and thats how objects really look to others. I have florescent lighting in my room but it looks a lot different to how I look in a mirror at school with fluorescent lighting. How can I tell what I really look like?Is how I look under fluorescent lighting how I look to other people? I look really funny under it..I also feel like its mostly just when I'm in a white room with fluorescent lighting that I look my worst.
- Kayla, this is a good question. The answer actually is it depends. There are different kinds of fluorescent lights, and depending on the color temperature (yes, that's a real term) of the bulb, it changes the way objects look as seen under that light. Cool light has a bluish hue and is typically in the range of 5000k. Warm light has a yellowish hue and typically falls in the range of 2500 to 3500k, by comparison. The typical soft white household bulb tends to be in the 3000k range. The standard long fluorescent tube tends to be on the cold side, which commonly is perceived as being harsh and distorting. The lighting section at Home Depot by us has a display that shows the same. picture under different lights. By looking at this, you can get a good understanding of how the color temperature of a particular bulb affects the way things look. Although actual daylight is on the order of 6500k, that winds up looking very harsh in the context of a home. Cooler lights are brighter, so they are often used in institutional settings, but they are not the kind of warm friendly lights most people want in their homes. This accounts for your feeling that you look your worst under fluorescent lights in a white room - it gives an almost bluish cast to your skin; very harsh! Everybody looks awful under cold fluorescent lights, though some people probably look even worse depending on their natural skin color and clothing....but depending on the specific bulb that's in place, it'll change how everything looks.
- Q: I have had the 'service vehicle soon' light come on recently and at the same time my front and rear fog lights stopped working. I was told it is a burnt out fog light that is causing the service vehicle light to show and all the fog lights not to work.But how do i know which light is busted if none turn on? And would 1 burnt out fog light cause the other 3 not to work?And could it really be just a busted fog light causing the 'service vehicle light'?PS. I have scanned the car for codes and none came back. Thanks.
- Rear Fog Lights?? Those 2 at the back on the bottom bumper are Reverse Lights. And 1 burned out light would not cause the light to come. You have something wrong in the fuse or relay which both of those are located on the RIGHT HAND side of your instrument panel. Does the light illuminate on the switch when you turn the fog lights on? If not, may be the fuse or relay. Also possible the switch it also could be the Body Control Module since it is the one that grounds the relay to turn on the fog lights when it sees the command when the switch is turned on.

- Hello: The speed of light is given my Maxwell's equation for the speed of light in a vacuum: The reciprocal of the square root of the product of the permittivity and permeability of free space. That is only true in a vacuum and is 299,792,458 meters per second (approx 186,282.5 miles per second). As light enters the boundary of a media change, such as from a vacuum through a piece of glass, the wavelength and energy change. That does have an effect on the velocity as well. Both speed and direction change slightly. The energy is conserved, however, and the light again returns to normal as it exits the glass back into the vacuum. Cheers!

- there is lighter fluid for making fires for cooking outside and there is lighter fluid (usually smaller can) for putting in lighter fluid for Zippo type lighters. Yes they are different so please be careful and don't try lighting Zippo until you find out which one you have.
