- Q: and can a bean plant with out light even grow?
- A bean plant without light might outgrow one with light for a tiny bit, because it would still be desperately seeking light, and not think it's grown tall enough to get it yet. But a plant without light doesn't have any more energy than was contained in the seed, and until leaves are grown and they can receive light, the plant doesn't have the ability to make more energy (even if it's getting fertilizer and water). Without light, all plants are doomed to die, even though their seeds get them started.
- Q: When you shine a white light from a flashlight through your hand you see red on the other side. It is not the blood. Explain why it is red light. Use energy, frequency, wavelength, and any equations if you can.Thank you
- Actually, when you shine a light through your hand, it IS the blood and tissue that makes it red. In the visible electromagnetic spectrum, red has the lowest wavelength out of all of the colors and violet (purple) has the highest. This is why you don't see red in the ocean. Red light dies out the fastest when exposed to resistance. Violet and blue are the highest frequencies and they last the longest. If one were to hop in a submarine and travel straight down, first red would disappear, then orange, then yellow, then green, then blue, then indigo, then violet. After violet disappears, it is pitch dark. So, red light is actually the fastest to die out and when you shine a light through your hand, it is blood and tissue that makes it red. Hope this helps.

- It will probably look red when illuminated with a red light, green when with a yellow light, and with a green light it will probably look blue.

- Q: what is light?
- When an electron moves out of its regular orbit around the nucleus of an atom to occupy another level on the outer side, it will come back to its previous level releasing the energy it had gained that made it leave its orbit in the first place. This energy released is made of photons and it presents itself as light. This was a very elementary description of where light comes from. For instance, you can observe the phenomenon when you pass a piece of metal on a grinder. You will see the sparks of atoms jumping out of the piece of metal where electrons give off the light as they go back to their original levels after they had been moved away.
- Q: I keep hearing people say IR light or UV light, but if they are outside of the human visible spectrum, are they still considered light rays? What is the real definition of light? Where does light begin and end in the EM spectrum. Are radio waves, then, also considered light? Just light that we cannot see? What about X-Rays?
- Yes they are light rays. Just because the human eye can't see them does not effect the fact that they are light. Light rays are a type of electromagnetic energy. in the range of 4000 (violet) to 7700 (red) in the EM Spectrum Radio waves are not a type of light. X rays are part of the electromagnetic spectrum and are a type of light but beyond our visual perception.
- Q: Sunlight, or indoor lights.
- Sunlight in most cases. Artificial lighting in the costume rooms in theaters, where the lighting is not fluorescent, but on planes and under those kinds of lights, I, as do most people, look horrible. No matter how much makeup you wear you will never look fabulous under fluorescent lighting, it washes out your colour in the skin and hair, and shows the slightest imperfection.

- what do you mean? they only carry creme developer by the 10's like 20,30,40,50,60 e.t.c. there's no 46 or 47 you have to be more detailed with your question,which hair color process are you using?
- Q: Can we seperate Heat and Light? i.e Is light always accompanied by Heat? Is there somthing called quot;cold lightquot;?
- If visible light passes through glass, water, or any other border with mass, it will loose some energy. Some of the light when it loses energy passes in to the spectrum of infra-red. This is what feels like heat. If there is any sensor to search for heat, it is inevitable that some energy is lost and will become infra-red and thus heat. Therefore you can not find any light with out heat.
- Q: Do all dark objects absorb more heat/light than lighter objects?
- It's the other way around - objects appear dark because they absorb more light than lighter objects, which reflect more light than darker objects. You see only the light that each reflects. There are some interesting exceptions. For example, fluorescent-coloured objects appear to reflect even more visible light than strikes them because they convert some of the ultraviolet light, which is invisible, into visible light. The heat and light absorbing or reflecting qualities of a surface are usually not equivalent. Radiant heat is just low-frequency light (infrared light) and a given surface may reflect more or less of each frequency of light.
