- There is rotary switch on the dash that turns the brightness up or down to suite your needs,make sure that it has not been turned all the way down. As to your park brake warning light,it could be the switch that is under the park brake that is grounded all the time,also there is a problem with body control modules on these vehicles. The module controls the dash lights also and a number of other functions,see if you can get a manual for the car it will give you the info that you need,it will also tell you what you can do yourself and what you can't
