Fluorescent light bubs (compact and regular) start with the spectrum from Hg, but allow that light to interact with fluorescent materials in the bulb to generate other colors. Tungsten bulbs are blackbody radiators. Google any of the above terms to get more information.

- The two keep burning out due to excessive heat. The metal base in the lamp (bulb) socket might be loose. There might be a glass shade over the lamps causing the heat to build up. The wattage of the lamps might be higher than the mfr recommended wattage. There are many reasons, but it will definitely be due to heat.
