- okay, the needle will enter your vein. once the needle is in place, a very very very small plastic and bendy tube is pushed through the needle into your arm, and the needle is removed and leaves the tube (catheter) in. you cannot feel when the tube is in your vein. the only thing you will feel is the needle. they are quick about administering drugs, so you will be knocked out quickly and will not really care about a teeny tiny tube in your vein. it'll be okay!!! have them show you the catheter tube, and you will see that it is actually smaller than the needle they put into you!
