Q:Can plastic sheets be used for DIY hydroponic systems?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used for DIY hydroponic systems. They can be easily shaped and molded to create a variety of structures, such as grow beds, channels, or reservoirs. Plastic sheets are durable, lightweight, and can be cost-effective, making them a popular choice for DIY hydroponics. Additionally, they are also resistant to water and can help retain moisture within the system.
Q:why do people put plastic sheeting down before pouring concrete? I think i know but want to here from experts.?
It's cheating. If you did not put down enough gravel, then put down the plastic. Because when the dirt leaches water out of the concrete (or other reasons), then that part of the concrete is weak. (or in a wet area, it also creates problems). However, in all honesty, your result would be better WITHOUT the plastic underneath, and more gravel underneath (which costs more). Why? Because cured concrete is a bit of a sponge, and needs to also let the water it absorbed out. If someone later puts this inside a home by building over a patio, without enough gravel base, then this concrete would be constantly wet, and thus, would be an odd and difficult to figure out disaster of problem, perhaps even a mushroomy smell. So, in summary, for a foundation for a fountain, it's great...for sidewalks....ok as well. For a slab foundation, it's a disaster! For anything outside, where the winters are short....it's ok.
Q:Can plastic sheets be used for medical or healthcare purposes?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used for medical or healthcare purposes. They are commonly utilized in hospitals and healthcare facilities for various applications such as protective barriers, disposable coverings, isolation curtains, wound dressings, and medical packaging. Plastic sheets provide a flexible, lightweight, and cost-effective solution for ensuring hygiene, preventing infection, and maintaining a sterile environment in medical settings.
Q:it touched a plastic bag right when it came out of the oven and now it's stuck on and hard as a rock. how do i get it off?
You can do it allot of ways the simplest Soak it in hot sudsy water for 10-15 minutes then scrub it should come off easily Put it back in the oven (plastic side up) and let it heat up enough to melt then whip it off with newspaper or paper towels (be careful not to burn yourself) Or pop it in the freezer over night which should make it brital and just hit it really hard (smack it on the floor, hit it with a hammer) and it should brake off but this way is messy
Q:Can plastic sheets be used for printing?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used for printing.
Q:Are plastic sheets suitable for electrical insulation?
Yes, plastic sheets are suitable for electrical insulation. They possess high dielectric strength, which allows them to resist the flow of electric current and prevent short circuits. Additionally, plastic sheets are resistant to moisture, chemicals, and UV radiation, making them a reliable choice for electrical insulation applications.
Q:Transparent plastic board yellowing, how to restore just bought?
There is no doubt that these old yellow plastics are fully aged.
Q:I'm building a 2 x 3 grid for my hedgehog's CC cage. I have all the grids set up and ready to go, I just need the coroplast. All over the internet, I see that you can buy it from Lowes and Home Depot etc., but those all include 10 36 x 48 sheets, for about $200! I only need one!!
Most any sign shop will have tons in stock or can order you just one of whatever you want. There are many grades, colors, and thicknesses available.
Q:I usually sleep under a little tent sort of thing made out of tarp tied to stakes and trees and whatnot so that it resembled a sort of elongated prism. Anyway i used to have a big roll of heavy duty plastic sheeting. I would take like a 5x10 foot sheet of the stuff and tie the ends together so that it kind of resembled a piece of candy but was open in the middle so i could put my pad down and sleeping bag down inside and sleep inside it. I would do this because when the rain comes, none would get in from above but sometimes water would run underneath so I developed this canoe idea. Anyway I'm out of plastic sheeting and I forget where i bought it from. Can someone help?
Home depot. Lowes. any construction material yard
Q:I recently got a (Guitar) Pick Puncher for someone, and I want to supply them with some plastic sheets to punch them out of... I have come across the name Plike but I don't know if that's just one specific name brand. I would like to know where to get it also, and assume I might be able to go to michaels craft store.. I would like to have a name for them to search in the computer database in case I walk in, can't find it, and then the person I ask has no clue either.. Any help is appreciated. Thanks a bunch!
You can make guitar picks from many things that has the strength for the job. Can even do it with old LP records, cd/dvd, hard vinyl/plastic sheets you can get from hardware stores, credit cards, other polycarbonate sheets... Or the harder to get stuff like ultem or derlin sheets, tortoise shell... If you are crafty, buy sheets of colorful thin vinyl sheets, decorate them, then glue them together with epoxy/resin to the thickness of the puncher (this requires experimenting to get the right thickness/toughness)
