Aluminium is a relatively soft, durable, lightweight, ductile and malleablemetalwith appearance ranging from silvery to dull gray, depending on the surfaceroughness. It is nonmagnetic and does not easily ignite. A fresh film ofaluminium serves as a good reflector (approximately 92%) of visible light and an excellent reflector (asmuch as 98%) of medium and far infrared radiation. The yield strengthof pure aluminium is 7–11 MPa, while aluminium alloys have yield strengths ranging from200 MPa to 600 MPa. Aluminium has about one-third the density and stiffness of steel. It is easily machined, cast, drawn and extruded.
Aluminium alloys (or aluminum alloys; see spellingdifferences) are alloysin which aluminium(Al) is the predominant metal. The typical alloying elements are copper, magnesium, manganese, silicon, tin and zinc. There are twoprincipal classifications, namely casting alloys and wrought alloys, both of which are furthersubdivided into the categories heat-treatableand non-heat-treatable. About 85% of aluminium is used for wrought products, for example rolled plate, foils and extrusions.Cast aluminium alloys yield cost-effective products due to the low meltingpoint, although they generally have lower tensile strengthsthan wrought alloys. The most important cast aluminium alloy system is Al–Si,where the high levels of silicon (4.0–13%) contribute to give good castingcharacteristics. Aluminium alloys are widely used in engineering structures andcomponents where light weight or corrosion resistance is required

- Q: Is it safe to use aluminum foil that has been used before for storing food?
-
It is generally not recommended to reuse old aluminum foil for storage purposes. Reused foil can accumulate bacteria and may even tear, leading to food contamination. Additionally, the foil's integrity and effectiveness as a barrier can be compromised with use, potentially allowing air and moisture to reach the food, which can spoil it faster. For food safety and quality, it's best to use fresh aluminum foil each time.

- Q: How can I mint my own coins/tokens?
- The reason everyone does not have their own personal mint is the problems in making oneMaking the machine is not to difficult for one can make a screw press or can use a hammer and anvil like the ancient greeks didThe Asian peoples cast there coins in bronze and copper using sand moldsOnly one side of the coin had characters in the beginningWood blocks that were hand carved were also usedFor a screw press or anvil type one needs to be able to engrave and also a good steel for the diesOne has to make a master hub then dies are made from thatThere must be a library near you that has books on the minting processesThere also must be some on line sites, you need to dig deeperAs for making your own coins, they will be actually tokens and if you do not try to defraud anyone it is quite legal.
- Q: Has anyone ever cooked turkey in the bag? I wanted to cook my Christmas Turkey in a bag this year, but then when I went to put it in there, I looked at the directions and it said to put flour in itI have a severe wheat allergy, so obviously I didn't have any flour and couldn't prepare it that way, but I wasn't sure if I could substitute rice flour or corn starch for the flour next yearDoes anyone have any ideas?
- You can just leave the flour out and be okI never bother putting the flour in when I roast a turkey and it always turns out fineI I have cooked turkey in bags for years and this year, christmas morning, realized I didn't have a bagI remember my mom always just put it in a roasting pan and after about two hours baking time, but a piece of aluminum foil over the breast and wing to prevent excessive browning That is what I did, prepared the bird, but it in a pan and poured a cup of water in the inside of the turkey along with a few pieces of onion and celery, rubbed the skin with butter, salt, and pepper and roasted the 13 pound turkey at 325 degrees for 3 1/2 hoursIt was perfect, although cleanup was easier with cooking bagsThe skin was crispy and it was golden, I may never use a cooking bag for turkey again.
