Aluminium is a relatively soft,durable, lightweight, ductile and malleablemetalwith appearance ranging from silvery to dull gray, depending on the surfaceroughness. - When I used to make wedding cakes, I always used a cardboard cakeboard between each tier of stacked cakeSo you could do a round one or two layer, then make a square one or two layer (but put it on a cakeboard the same size or maybe 1/4 smaller wrapped in aluminium foil)Place the square ontop of the round and it shouldn't collapseIf you are still worried about stability, you can use wooden dowels cut to the exact height of the round cakes.Stick four or five dowels into the center area of the bottom cake and set the top cake onto this.Make sure to cover the edge of the cakeboard with icing if you can see the foil when the cakes are stackedThis should be fineGood luck.
