- Q:i finally bought a new faucet, and changed it. it seems that there is no more leaking from the faucet.but now, it seems that there is some water leaking right under that white plastic screw. around the plastic looking tube. inside of it, there is a dark rubber kind of ring around it. i can't take out the white plastic tube connector. otherwise, i will just put some plastic tape, and seal it. that shouldn't be so hard.now i am thinking, what if i put some plumber's putty inside of that white plastic tube connector? will that solve the problem?
- Did you use teflon tape on the threads when you installed the supply hose? This seals the threads so you don't get a leak from the hose fitting. And, if this leaks, it can seem like it's coming from the brass pipe or the faucet itself. You can get a roll of it for less than a buck at any hardware store. Just wrap it around a couple of layers about an inch up the pipe and connect the supply hose. Don't use plumber's putty. It's not made for high pressure applications and it will eventually fail, if it even works at all.

- It will work. But you have to let the experts do the drilling of the tank glass. This is easily done. In fact, some marine hobbyists with sumps are familiar with this. Find one and ask him for advice and the proper fittings to install. The only difference I see is that you will use clear plastic tubing instead of the normal PVC pipes used by marine hobbyists.
- Q:Have you ever noticed it becomed increasingly difficult to stop unwanted back flow of paste towards the sealed end of the plastic tube. Unlike the earlier metallic tubes which could be rolled up from the bottom and be self retaining, the plastic tubes cannot be wound up into a permanent situation but always unroll to a flat state. - use a rolling pin to squeez the stuff out...and there is a gadget on the market that looks like 2 fingers, you slip the bottom of the tube between the 2 fingers and just turn up so that the tube rolls around and over the fingers and the paste doesn't backflow..got he idea?..but you can always by toothpast in a pump

- You need to give more detail. Rigid or flexible? Resistant to solvents? Does it have to bear any pressure? Thin walled or thick? UV stable? Cap to be gas- or liquid-tight ? Does 'clear' mean not tinted or just transparent?
