Q: Apparently my computer has a 300 watt power supply. I am wanting to purchase a new graphics card but apparently in order to get a better graphics card then my existing card, Geforce 8400, I need a larger power supply. What will I need to purchase to increase the power supply to 500 watt and is it really worth buying all this? I am thinking I might aswell save up a bit more and buy a new computer.Any help apprietiated, thank you.
There's nothing you can buy to boost your existing power supply - you have to buy a complete new one. Luckily though power supplies are relatively cheap. You can find a 500w supply for around $30-60.
Q: theres a red wire, black and yellow. i turned the power supply to the shower off at the main switch board. but when cutting through the cables to repair it it nocked off another switch on the switch board even though the shower is on its own circuit. does this mean there is still power in the wires and is there any power in the yellow wire (earth). witch is the live wire red or black?
Power near shower or to? You have 220 power and both the red and black are live (will deliver 110 to earth.)
Q: Hi my new computer's new power supply supports voltage from 100V - 240V. But the power cable's plug that came with it does not fit my country's. My country runs on 240V and the power cable that came with it says 10A 125V on it, and I THINK it's an U.S plug.So should I be getting a new power cable with higher max voltage or just a adapter so that the plug will fit?
Use adapter is ok. PSU of computer about 400-500W so u only need cable 5A 240v.
Q: i have the computer powersupply 400w and i dont know what cable to connect to the car stereo???
if you have a volt meter eather of the black wires are ground you will see a red and a yellow one is 5 volts and the other is 12 volts the 12 volts wire paired with one of the black wires will power your car audio
Q: I just bought the 8800gt, but i don't have the cable to connect it to the power supply. So what cable do i need ??I found those but i am not sure
If you want to find out what cables you need there are two ways. 1. check the manual or guide that came with the device to see if it says what cables you need. 2. take the device with to a hardware or electronics store and ask the clerks there to help you find the right cables for you're device.
Q: what is the easiest way to replace the power window cables on the motor in the passenger side of a '94 accord
If you are referring to the electrical wires leading to the power window system, then you need to cut wires and splice new ones back into the system along with the plug at the end of the cable.
Q: SATA power connector? If so where can i buy one?
Probably, but most people just buy Molex to SATA power adapters. If you need more Molex 4 pin plugs, just buy some Y splitters. Any computer store worth a darn should have some of both in stock, even the chain ones.
Q: If you look at a power line it is hanging down in the middle why is that

Q: i have a 01 grand prix gt and i want to run the power cable to an amp , anyone know a good spot to run it?
In that vehicle the battery is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment. There should be a large, rectangular rubber grommet located at the front of the passenger side footwell, with a large wire bundle running through it. I usually route the power wire through that grommet, or drill a hole right next to it. It's important to carefully route and secure the wire in the engine compartment so it can't touch hot or moving engine parts. You'll also want to make sure you seal up the hole around the power wire because it's easy for water to get in at that location.
Q: I bought a TV and it requires 9 amps but it didn't include the cable. I have a 7 amp cable that fits, but I don't want to damage the TV. All the cables at stores around me don't fit well. Could I get away with just using this one for a couple days until the right one arrives in the mail? I can imagine that it wouldn't give me reliable power, but I don't really care about that, I just don't want to damage the power supply of the TV. Thanks in advance.
You have a TV that draws 9 amps from a 117 v.a.c. power line? That's roughly a kilowatt. You could run three 55-inch LED sets for that, with power to spare. Or does your TV operate from a 12-volt d.c. source, like for a boat or RV? That would make more sense, 108 watts total. In that case, using the wrong power cable could be at least a theoretical hazard. I'd wait for the proper cable. If you'll update your post with the make and model of your TV and what you're powering it from, you might get a better answer. Your location would also help, at least which country due to different a.c. power systems. ----------------------- Followup, per your added details: now I get it--you have a power cord that's rated at 7 or 9 amps, not a TV that draws that much. That's entirely different. Your TV/DVD combo will use a maximum of about 150 watts, which means it will draw just a little over one amp. So any power cord you can find that fits properly and is rated at something like 3 amps or more will be fine.
