How many molecules are in 1 square foot of aluminum foil?
Since aluminum foil is an amalgamation of various metals you would first need to know the full chemical breakdown in order to determine how many molecules there are in a square foot of aluminum foil. That said, if your foil was 100% aluminum, you could determine the number of AL atoms by first determining the mass of the foil and dividing by the molecular weight of AL. Multiply that by 6.022 x 10^23 to determine the number of atoms.
I did electrolysis by adding aluminum to the ends of the wire. I waited about 2 hours, and then I filtered the water. After it dried, I was left with powder. It's gray.It that aluminum powder or something else? I'm making thermite, if its not aluminum powder will it still work?
Kinda sorta, the problem with this is that all you did was made aluminium oxide or hydroxide, when you electrolyzed the aluminium you also electrolyzed a bit of water with it, which added a hydroxyl group to the aluminum, which may have dropped a hydrogen when you dried it. If you could find an aluminium compound that is water soluble (DAMNED HARD to find) you could electrolyze it in water to get aluminium dust in the water, but that isnt very reliable or economical, the best thing for you to do is to get a ball mill or rock tumbler, add aluminium fold and about half full of regular marbles, let it run for 3 or so weeks. You need it really fine!
Trying to find the best aluminum powder I can buy for rocket engines and pyrotechnic (fireworks) uses?
It really depends on your formula and how the aluminum is being used in the formula. Is it a part of the fuel or is an additive to the fuel for sparks?
Yes, aluminum sheets can be used for manufacturing aircraft engine components due to their lightweight, high strength, and good corrosion resistance properties.
Yes, aluminum sheets can be used for reflectors.
1995 s10 I took this whole thing apart and marked and labled everything. Now i have an aluminum head sitting on a bucket that was spraying water right from the head gasket but the head gasket is in perfect shape, and there are no cracks i can see on the head. One more thing, the truck would not start up with water in it, but it would when it was drained, like it was blocking the spark or something. yes it did overheat has this ever happened to anyone else, and any ideas? Thank you.
Check the flatness of the head with a straight edge and feeler gauges, or take it to an automotive machine shop to be checked. The reason overheating causes head gasket leakage is that aluminum expands almost exactly twice as much as iron when heated, so the aluminum heads buckles upward (warps) when it expands too much more than the block. That is why the engine did not fire with coolant in it - the coolant was getting on the spark plug. Eduardo is right about Dex-cool, but your 1995 probably never had it... I believe GM started that debacle in 1996.
Indeed, it is possible to employ waterjet cutting for aluminum sheets. By utilizing a combination of high-pressure water and an abrasive substance, waterjet cutting proves to be an adaptable approach in severing a range of materials, including aluminum and other metals. The efficacy of this technique in cutting aluminum stems from its ability to avoid heat generation, thereby preventing potential distortion or harm to the metal. Moreover, it ensures exceptional precision and accuracy, facilitating the effortless cutting of intricate shapes and designs. Consequently, waterjet cutting has become a prevalent practice in industries necessitating immaculate and precise cuts in aluminum sheets, such as aerospace, automotive, and manufacturing.
how to find 0.6mm waste strake of aluminum sheet?
ask door and window maker for some strake.
