Q:Hi, I have a two and a half month old Pomeranian who coughs and sneezes only when in his potty training cage. Are dogs allergic to carpet fresh? Should I keep the dog up high away from the carpet? I clean the cage every day with doggie disinfectant so I don't think it's the cage.
When you use carpet fresh a little bit of the powder stays in the carpet even after vacuuming. This can be very irritable to people as well as pets. I would stop using the carpet fresh all together.
Q:i have large area rugs on my carpet and the are moving and sliding all around. which tape have you had the best experience with? thanks
You might try using a liquid fabric softener. Sounds crazy but if it will remove hardened latex paint it may remove the adhesive without damaging your carpet. You can also do this throughout your home to reduce static electricity in the winter time. There is also a product called L.A.s Awesome I purchase it at Dollar General Stores in OK, it removes all kinds of stuff.
Q:I am in soo much trouble, i am baby sitting at a brand new house. The child im taking care of wet the carpet so i used a hair dryer to dry it out. I found out the carpet was synthetic and it melted, there is a huge melt stain, plz help me, how can i fix it, i will die!!!
WHAT?? Are you sure that was a hair dryer and not a freekin' HEAT GUN? I've never heard of a hair dryer that was hot enough to melt the typical polymers used in carpeting. In any case, you tried to fix a problem and for some strange reason it didn't work - if I were the owner, I might be upset, but if you really used just a conventional hair dryer, and it indeed melted the carpet, I think I would be more upset with the carpet company. After all, you were trying to do the right thing. Now, if you're lucky, the homeowner will have some spare carpeting that they've saved away for exactly this kind of accident. An experienced carpet layer can surgically replace that using any one of two or three techniques. They can even do this if the homeowner doesn't have some spare carpeting, although that will add some additional cost, and the match may not be quite as good (depends on the color and style, which if the house is new, will hopefully still be available).
Q:My door catches on every rug i've purchased. I cannot open my front door without it dragging the rug. Anyone have any ideas where to find a very thin (yet hopefully durable) entry rug?
Try Target, Walmart, or bed, bath and beyond.
Q:Wheres the chaepest place to get carpet?
I've never actually bought carpet before, but I have shopped for it recently. I've found that Stone Mountain is pretty good. It's got some quality carpet brands for a good price. It's near I-40 on Portland in Oklahoma City.
Q:I am currently building a house. We're almost ready for flooring. We've chosen to put carpet throughout most of the house, besides the kitchen, bath and laundry room. Anyway, we are on a pretty strict budget. I need to know what quality of carpet is best. Like, do I have to buy the super expensive stuff for it to last and stay looking nice? I know that carpets have different weights and densities, does anyone know I should look for when I begin shopping around? oh, fyi: it's about 2000sq ft.
presonaly I like low cut carpet that doesn't have the little stringy things in it
Q:So my carpet (40 year's of age) was torn out my bedroom this morning. And what do ya knw!! there was a beatiful hardwood floor underneath. I saw all the stains/mold on the carpet and whatnot. Before I had trobule breathing and would wake up with a headace every morning becuase of the smell. However, I can notice a slight difference in smell but not a drastic Now, I can't decide if I should get a new carpet or just live with the hardwood floor that's already there. . I still have to sweep the dust and mop. Getting a brand new carpet is expensive. But with a hardwood floor in the winter it can be a little uncomterable. Any idea's??
How about sanding and varnishing the floorboards? It can look so lovely, but it is a chore to do. Hire a sander and maybe sleep in the living room while the varnish dries. Put down a few rugs to keep it warm?
Q:i live with my g-parents and the rugs are disgusting, and they refuse to change them. is there a way to throughly clean them and attempt to restore them without replacing them? thanks!
My mother's house had the original carpet, and she refused to change it while she was still living there. I used a Rug Doctor machine on it and that made a huge difference in how it looked. It took several days to do the job because we had to move the furniture, then use the machine, then wait for the rug to dry before moving the furniture back in. But it really made her rugs look so much nicer. There were still worn paths but it truly helped. You will need the machine, one or two bottles of the concentrated rug shampoo, the stain remover, and a traffic lane cleaner (all of which are sold at the Rug Doctor kiosk at the grocery store). If your grandparents have a dog or cat you may want to put in some concentrated flea killer in the wash water. Pre treat the traffic lanes and stains. Use VERY hot tap water in the tank with the shampoo and additives. After you shampoo the rugs, RINSE at least twice with clean hot water. You will be putting a lot of water in the rug and padding, most of which will be pulled back out by the shampoo machine. Use fans set on high to help dry the rugs. The problem with cleaning old rugs is there is a deep layer of packed in dirt at the root of the fibers on top of the backing. If you can borrow a Kirby vacuum cleaner to help break out some of that dirt it will help a lot. This is quite a big project and is a lot of work, but is a LOT cheaper than replacing the rugs. Hopefully you can get them to help you with moving the furniture.
Q:What is the name of a steel carpet that is used to filter dirt on the front door of the hall?
The middle part is made of metal materails. It's called aluminum alloy dust mat which can be put on the doorway because it's dust removal effect is particularly good, you can also see them in some office buildings. Generally, you can see them in the large-scale hotels.
Q:ok ive been searching up and down to find this beautiful rug for my living room... and to no avail.. I'm seeking my fellow yahoo friends..here is the link to the page where i originally found the rug of my desire.
I've okorder / . You might find something you like even better, too. The thumbnails aren't great, but they are clickable to show a larger view with more detail and better color. have fun :-)
