Q:Excuse me, how to calculate the gram weight of the carpet?
G weight; cm 3 (G Volume and weight have connection with the thickness of the fabric, and the gram weight of fabric shows with gram weight of per meter(g/, which can measure the wool-sense of fabric, it had better to measure the volume and weight of the fabric) The volume and weight of the fabric is the weight of the unit volume of the fabric. If it is a carpet such heavy fabric; M2) measurement; m) or per square gram weight
Q:What would be good rug to go in this room?
Frontgate and Grandinroad offer indoor/outdoor rugs that look and feel like quality rugs but are easy to care for as they are able to be hosed down. They come in both traditional and contemporary looks and are great for high traffic areas and kids and pets. I have several of them inside my home and no one knows they aren't a higher quality rug. The Pottery Barn shot tells me you are looking at something more comtemporary so something with some great color choices to perk up the room would be great. These rugs are really inexpensive and great look so check them out. They come in all sizes and shapes. Grandinroad is slightly less expensive than Frontgate but look at both.
Q:Baseboards before carpet?
one of the biggest reasons I recommend putting the base first to avoid problems when you replace the carpet the next time. The tack strips that hold the carpet stretch almost always gets trapped under the base and makes it almost impossible to tear out the old carpet without taking the base off. (which is added cost or work for that next job) Then if your replaced carpet is thinner then the old the baseboard sits lower, so there is often touch up painting to do because you paint more often then replace carpet (more work or cost). Also when removing base you often crack a piece so you have to glue it back together. I have been installing carpets for 15 years now ( thousands of jobs) and I can count on one hand the number of jobs I installed a stretch in carpet without the base. I highly recommend you putting the base on first.and if you don't then insist that they install the tack strips far enough away from the wall so that you don't have to worry the next time your replace the carpet ( the thickness of the base + 1/4 inch)
Q:Hand made scrap rug?
Hmmm. Not a seamstress, nor do I care to be, but I have one that I enjoy, and has lasted for 3 years, but it was machine made, and as a Rag Rug, was stitched, not knotted. Actually a pretty decent project though, for using scrap fabric, much like a braided oval/round rug. Perhaps you might find in a fabric retailer, a Mesh type, stiff material/substance, similar to that used in small yarn craft kits, but in a larger size? Just my two sense
Q:I need to find a certain area rug?
Hi there, What kind of rugs are you looking for? Besides size and patterns, also think about the use for it.. Machine-made area rugs are for example a lot cheaper, but the quality is a lot less then with for example a hand-knotted rug or tufted one. If you plan to place your area rug in a place with high traffic, considder more a hand-knotted rug or a tufted rug. If it's for a bedroom, a machine rug would be fine. Now-a-days, all types of area rugs come in all kinds of patterns (or one solid color if desired), so focus more on what type of area rug you're looking for, what the budget is you like to spend on it and how long you would like to keep it. If you plan to make this a one-time purchase, do not buy a machine made rug, but if you just like a rug that will last you for a few years, it might do. I suggest to go to a local area rug dealer and explain them what you're looking for. Prices vary a lot from $80,- to $80.000 and even more! So there will always be something for you to be found. Below I have included a link with some tips to keep in mind before buying a rug. Hopefully they'll help out. Happy rug hunting! ;o)
Q:How many types of persian rugs exist?
History of Persian Rug Persian rug|Oriental rugs The Persian rug is an essential part of Persian art and culture.Art of weaving has long history starting from the ancient times.Leads of today’s tradition of oriental carpets, are found in ancient nomadic tribes of Central and West Asia, where winter was a big reason to adopt woollen carpets as a shield against severe weather conditions. Rug weaving is undoubtedly one of the most distinguished manifestations of Persian culture and art, and dates back to ancient Persia one of the greatest civilizations the world has ever known around 2500 BC. Persian Rug Export Overview In 2008, Iran’s export of hand-woven carpets was £263.2 million or 30% of the world’s market. There is an estimated population of 1.2 million weavers in Iran producing Persian rug carpets for domestic markets and international export. Persian Rug Variation Most of the Persian rugs are made of sheep’s wool and also in a very rare occasion made of Camel’s wool. Both types of materials are warm and long lasting. The rugs made of artificial materials are not as warm as the wool ones; you can feel it by rubbing your palm on the pile of the rugs. The most expensive Persian rug is made by real silk which is weaving in a very fine knots.Creating silk rugs takes a lot longer and depends on the sizes may last over a year. Persian Rug Age Categories Antique: 50 years and older Semi-Antique: 30 to 99 years old Old: 20 to 99 years old Semi-Old: 10 to 50 years old Used: 1 to 10 years old New: 0 to 5 years old
Q:Is it sensible to let my 6 month pup chew on an old rug ?
He does not know the difference between your old rug and your posh carpets. If you allow him to chew an old rug, he will chew your carpets. Instead give him raw carrots to chew and RAW meaty bones from the butchers. He is old enough to be taken for reasonably long walks. Hopefully he is not left alone during the day, if you do this he will be bored, miserable and lonely and he will chew anything to ease his boredom
Q:carpet problem?
Use some ice on the wax and try scraping off as much as possible then get several rolls of paper towels and an iron. Place layers of paper towels over the wax and place iron on lowest setting on top.Replace towels when wax comes through other side. Keep doing this until the wax is gone.
Q:Knit a throw rug?
It's not uncommon to knit a rug. A few patterns are below with their specifics for needle and yarn. Good luck with whatever you end up knitting. Happy Knitting! IndigoMuse
Q:What material is the carpet?
Use cotton, hemp, wool, silk, grass and other natural fiber or synthetic fiber raw materials to knit and weave by manual or mechanical process into ground paving material. It is one of the world's traditional arts and crafts category with a long history. Covers in the residences, hotels, stadiums, exhibition halls, vehicles, ships, aircraft and other ground, having reduction in noise, heat insulation and decorative effect.
