Q:The difference between a fire resistant cable and a general power cable
First with the liner is the fire-resistant bridge, fire bridge is only the surface brushing fire paint, and some design drawings are written and norms a bit vague, according to his drawings should be refractory bridge.
Q:I bought a new amp and sub to replace my old ones. I disconnected the battery, unplugged the old amp and plugged the new one in and when I reconnected my battery the power cable began to smoke at all the exposed ends and got very hot. What causes this? Is it because the new amp requires more current than the old one and that is causing it to get very hot? And what is the solution to my problem? Thanks
What it sounds like is you accidentally connected the wires to the wrong terminals. If current were an issue u would most likely blow a fuse. But dont rule it out, u could just need a thicker gauge power 12v line. And also remember to ALWAYS GROUND the amp. either way, if it is an amp desined for car use, youre batt would never be too much power. If it is a high watt amp, you should look into buying a capaciter. Itll help regulate voltage usage and extend the life of your batt and alternator.
Q:what is the difference in applications between single and multicore power cables?
Multi-core power cables are useful any time you're carrying a circuit in and out of an appliance at the same location. Usually that's just 2 plus an optional ground. For electronic devices with specialized power requirements, there may be several power lines in the cable carrying different voltages. Single-core power cables are especially useful in high amperage appliances, such as welding equipment, and in DC automotive wiring in which the chassis serves as the ground. Thick cables for high amperage are hard enough to manage and wire without being bundled into a multi-core monster. It also makes sense to use single core cables with a ground chassis so that you only have to run one wire, and just complete the circuit to ground at the point of use. Single-core power cables can also be useful in serial or parallel wired appliances, or power supplies, such as a string of lights, or an array of batteries.
Q:My power supply cable to the motherboard is only 20 pin and the motherboard has a slot to take a 24 pin power cord. The 20 pin will fit but 4 slots are just left empty. The motherboard LED light comes on showing it has power. When I try to boot up the motherboard runs but the hard drive doesn't boot or the screen isn't working. Could this be b/c of not having a 24 pin power cable?I know the video card and HD work b/c I just transfered them from another motherboard that was a 20 pin. Any ideas?
I believe it'll work, 4 pins will just hang off to the side. The same goes for 8 pin power cables to a 4 pin power socket on the motherboard.
Q:I have a Netgear router and just now when I tried to plug the power cable back into the back of it, it would fit. I look more closely and it seems that the metal end of the power cable may be slightly bent. But I'm still confused because it's bent at the end of the metal, and even though the very tip of it isn't bent, that part still won't even slide into place a little. Could anyone help me in resolving this issue?
If it is the correct adapter for the router and it fitted before, gently force it and it will comfortably fit eventually. There is probably a reason it doesn't fit now (it has been pulled out with some force) so I would suggest getting a new power adapter for it if the above does not work
Q:Recently, I purchased two power tools from Craftsman - a 19.2v 1/2drill/driver and a 4.56A angle grinder that look exactly like ones sold by Porter Cable. I don't have links for the drills, but compare pictures of the two grinders below. Other than part of the plastic housing being a different color, you can clearly see that it's the exact same tool.

Q:The power company are doing some work on our road. and are going to be moving the terminal thing on the side of our house (2nd floor side wall) where the electric comes to the house and feeds both ours and next door (semi-detached). We have seen some dwellings that have a long UPVC bright orange plastic pipe covering the cable for a few meters and wondered why they do this?
It is to protect the cable and people and animals. It stops animals chewing and protects in case of hitting the cable.
Q:I have a Dell Latitude D505. I do not need comments on whether I have a good laptop or not. That's not the point.I heard a tiny pop sound, and after that, my laptop is not recognizing the power cable. I don't think it's the cable. I've tried restarting the computer. Any suggestions?
Something broke and you will not fix your problem here. Only a computer tech can help you now.
Q:Hi,1) Is spinning down of hard disk same as removing the power cable of the hard disk ? 2) Will the IDE cable connected carry power to the hard disk when the power cable is removed ?3) How do we spin down the hard disk manually ?
1) When you unplug the power cable, it spins down, because there is no power. In order to read data from the hard disk it needs to be spinning. When it is not spinning, you cannot read data from it. Some power saving systems will allow you set the hard drives to spin down after a long time that it has not been used, to conserve power. After that, to read from the disk it needs to be spun up, and that takes a few seconds. 2)No. 3) You cannot manually spin a hard disk, it spins at 7200 (some models 5400) rpm. That's VERY fast.
Q:at the end of power cable are 2 wires
I don't know what you mean by 302cm power cable. When it has 2 wires, one if usually the hot (power) and one is the ground (earth.) I don't know much else that'll help you, sorry.
