Q:ok so i wired the subs to the amp now, the positive (Red) goes to the battery, the ground (Black) is currently grounded to the metal under my drivers seat. My question is does it matter the color wire is that goes to the stereo? Can i use a red or black? Does it really matter? If not, where exactly would i hook it up behind my aftermarket sony headunit?

if your talking about your RCA wires that go from your stereo to your amp. the color doesnt matter as long as left and right are hooked up correctly

Your link isn't complete. One thing I do know, many cheap speakers come with speaker wire that is about the size of a hair and practically impossible to do anything with. I just buy 18 or 24 guage wire in a spool to hook up the speakers. Using the next size wire doesn't hurt, but smaller wire will reduce performance.

Q:I dont understand it I am trying to get a 1ohm load on a 2ohm dvc speaker but cant figure out how to tell if the wire you connect in the postive terminal on the sub in a neg wire or positive how do you tell what the gray line is on this diagram positive or negetive and how to tell. thanks

Q:I recently took out my old ceiling fan, and now there is a Black, Red, And White Wire hanging from the ceiling, I bought a track light that has a box with a Green, White, and Black wire in it. Which wires am i supposed to connect,It's for the light Switch, and I'm not sure when the house was built, its a Reading, PA Row house.

It looks like you had a fan and a light, with separate wall switch controls. The black was the fan and the red was the light (or vice versa) and the neutral for both. Connect the black to black, white to white and cap off the red one and turn on the switch. If the light doesn't work, switch it off again (at the breaker, silly), connect the red ceiling wire to the black wire of the light, cap off the ceiling black wire and try again.

Q:I need to wire a single 120v outlet from the 240v volt wire I use on my compressor. Im installing a 120v electric automatic drain valve on my large shop air compressor. The compressor is wired up with SJ00W 10-AWG, 4-wire power cable (red,green,black white wires). and is rated at 240v @ 15-amp(compressor not wire). The drain valve uses a normal house hold current wiring config. (black,white and open copper)The 240v power supply is the only supply I have near by, (two of them actually) Or I would just wire the automatic valve off an outlet and call it a day. So How do I wire a 120v 3-wire set up from the 240v 4-wire supply? Thanks

Hud is correct. To accomplish this you would need to install a 30 amp subpanel with a 4 to 6 circuit configuration with a two pole breaker for feeding the compressor with # 10 wire and a one-pole 15 or 20 amp breaker with smaller wire (14 or 12 gauge respectively and the appropriate rated 120 volt outlet on that branch circuit). If you have regular 120 volt outlets somewhere nearby (as I think you are saying in your second to last sentence) I would go that route instead.

If it needed wire shielding it would have come with it from the factory. If you get OEM style plug wires then it will come with shielding as well, hence OEM, if not then it didn't come with them and doesn't need them.

Belden is a good source, there are lots of other. But I suspect you want a multi-wire cable, not a wire. You need to specify the number of conductors, and the size of each. The 12 volts is not relevant. The insulation voltage is. Also, note that for long runs, you have to increase the wire size. .

Q:Does anyone know what color the neutral safety wire is on a 1995 suburban? The one in the ignition harness.

The yellow wire on the ignition switch harness goes to the transmission range switch (aka park/neutral safety switch) on the transmission, and then the purple wire on the transmission range switch goes to the starter solenoid.

It is a wire without a tube. It works properly, it has a larger section than the usual wires, but is cheaper (Al is cheaper than Cu).

Use both. Wire up a couple of locations you use most of the time and set up wireless for when you want to move around or your buddy brings his/her computer over. There are wireless routers that also have wired ports to connect to. Switch off the wireless when you don't need it or aren't using it.
