Q:For those metal experts out there, steel or stainless steel.?
Stainless Steel is an allow of Chrome and Steel and several other additives. There are at least 100 types of Stainless.. Most common is 300 Series , that the cheapest and used in household stuff. Then there is the 400 series in that series is a stainless that can be heat treated because it contains sufficient carbon to do so. I would say if its wear you are looking for Stainless is not wear resistant to the extent other steels are. You want a heat treatable oil hardenting steel for that purpose. A good example and an old reliable one is what is called O-1 or oil hardening one. It can be heated with a torch at the wear end and quenched in oil right on the fab site. to a hardness of Rockwell C of about 55 or so and wears well. I suppose the best basket would be a 300 Series stainless to reduce rusting with end pieces that are probably bolted on made of O-1 heat treated to RC of about 55 or so. Of course if you make the wear ends removable with bolts, you can really get some wear steels for those wear parts You can use High Speed Steel RC=95, Drills are high speed steel. and even a material called Hasteloy next to carbide in hardeness. I suspect those baskets are made of Stainless Steel with wear ends of another material as ive discussed above.
Q:What Atoms are there in Steel?
Steel is an alloy consisting mostly of iron, with a carbon content between 0.2 and 1.7 or 2.04% by weight (C:1000–10,8.67Fe), depending on grade. Steel is Fe(iron) and Carbon alloy. These are the atoms in certain ratio that make up steel. Its not a molecule but alloy.
Q:i know stainless steel don't rust, does that go the same for just regular steel..?
There are dozens of types of steels, some stainless and some not. They differ a lot in their chemical composition and in how they're made (especially heat treating methods). They all vary in their strength, working properties and corrosion resistance. Regular steel (technically carbon steel--mostly iron, with a little bit of carbon) rusts quite badly if unprotected and in the right environmental conditions i.e. humidity/moisture. The iron in regular steel reacts with oxygen to form iron oxide--the orange/red stuff we call rust. Iron oxide is a loose and porous material which provides no protection to the underlying steel, which is why rusted regular steel will continue to rust. Stainless steel, in addition to containing iron and carbon, contains chromium as a component--and it's the chromium that is important for corrosion protection. To be fair, even stainless steel rusts but what happens is that it's the chromium that reacts with oxygen to create a microscopically-thin layer of chromium oxide. This layer is very tough and actually protects the uncorroded steel, preventing further corrosion. Broadly speaking, the higher the chromium content, the more corrosion resistant the stainless steel.

Q:Breathing vapourized stainless steel?
I would imagine it's not good. I doubt cancer but I suppose it may be possible. Shouldn't you guys have respirator gear on? Where's OSHA when you need'em? ;)
Q:what is stronger Tempered Steel Blade or Carbon Steel Blade?
1. all steel blades are tempered, whether they are high carbon blades or low carbon blades. 2. It depends on what kind of steel they are made from. So im going to answer this question, using the following qualifications. 440A stainless steel 440C stainless steel - high carbon. The higher the carbon level, the more brittle a blade becomes. But the higher the carbon level, will increase a steel’s wear resistance , meaning it will have a better edge retention 2. They both will work well. Pros's / Con's The 440C blades will need less sharpening, but are harder to sharpen The 4401 blades will need to be sharpened more, but are far easier to resharpen. So it basically comes down to where you will be using them and how you will be using them. If your gonna be out in the middle of the jungle and stopping for the night, then the high carbon blade would probably be better, you use it all day, resharpen it at night. If your gonna be cutting brush, tobbaco, etc on your land, then the 440A would be better, because you can take a couple of min's to resharpen it often
Q:Casting Stainless Steel?
You have 2 options. Sand casting or investment casting. Stainless steel can be cast with either of these methods. In either case a model or pattern will have to be created. For sand casting the pattern is all that is needed to go to casting. For investment casting the pattern is used to make a wax casting, which is then coated with the investment. The wax is burned out and the metal is then poured into the cavity. If you are making just 1 or 2 pieces you can have waxes machined. This saves the intermediate step Depending on the size machining may still be your best option. Especially if you want just 1 part.
