- Cork flooring is very cool looking. I'm not sure about the FLOATING cork floor but I know that the self stick cork tiles(12x12x3/16) are very durable and work well in a bathroom. This would need luan underlayment and would obviously not last as long as ceramic tile. I think it would be a viable alternative to a cheap ugly vinly flooring. My friend is an architect and he has had it in his bathroom and kitchen for 7 years now. Still looks great!

The house we just bought has linoleum tile that looks like green marble (I am removing it!) Real hardwoods are beautiful, expensive, need to be laid by a pro., but are worth the expense if you can afford it.

- you might be using too much vinegar....swiffer wet has ALWAYS left my floor sticky....I usually go over the floor with a little bit of plain cleaner and water (like lysol, pine-sol, mr clean, etc) and then after that I go back over it with HOT water and bleach. Make sure you are rinsing your mop after every use (and also remember a little bit of cleaning product goes a LONG way) because you may have some buildup in your mop that is causing the stickiness.

- You can buy stick on pads to put on the bottom of your chair legs to keep them from scratching the floor.They are spongy circles or squares in different shapes with a peel off backing. You can buy them at Home Depot, Lowe's, Wal mart and some hardware stores. If the scratches aren't too deep, you may be able to buff them out with mineral spirits and an old towel. If they are deep, try a wax pencil in wood tones, made to fill in and conceal scratches on wooden furniture. Try to get the stick on's right away, or the floor will just get worse and worse.
